Why does Matias Fernandez play so poorly for me? Where's his best position?

I play him as an ML with a short arrow upwards for my R. Madrid team. He has great stats but he doesn't play well for me. He keeps cutting inside and slowing up play and he gets poor ratings for me.

What can I do make him play better? Should I try altering my tactics and fit him as an AMC?

I first played him at ML with a curved arrow to AMC but he only played average there. So i moved him to AMC as a playmaker with high creative freedom and he plays wicked there.

I found that playing him AMC is best. He scored 56 goals in 50 games there for me.

AMC with instruction to for a goal! (arrows, runs) I used narrow tactics where strikers went out wide while he ran to the middle, worked miracles.
