Anyone mentions the EPL and EC loans and I'll clip their ears, btw.

Well, there's no consensus about that. Some people wouldn't loan a player from a club more than two divisions above them, while others will loan any player that will want to join. Your call, really.

Pretty much what Kostis said, cowan.

I believe if your Scout finds a player, or your AssMan says it's realistic, then any player who will accept your terms is fair game.

I used to be of the "two divisions above" persuasion, but it's hard to argue against it when the players are there on your scout list and the AssMan's yinkin' to sign them.

Other guys say otherwise. (Eech! Verse)

Apply the Jiminy Cricket Clause and you shouldn't go wrong.

IMO, all kidding aside (and I think my ears are still intact ) it depends very much on the player.

Championship level stiffs are probably fair game for loans. Championship level youth team players are probably OK for perm transfers (Barnet have their midfield anchored by a former Norwich trainee who they signed last summer).

EPL players - I'd say youths only are likely to do low level loans - older reserves are unlikely to drop that far unless they are out of contract and toward the end of their career.

But as has been said, it's a personal preference and there is no consensus. I tend to only loan players in emergencies anyway

Quick question, how did you get to play in the FA VANS when you were in the Conference North?
