If your scout turned them up then they are fair game as far as I'm concerned. For some reason I often find them easier to get then loans from lower division teams.
Then that's a conscience issue. I don't care if, by chance, my scouts found a player in the Premiership if i'm in the Conference: there's no way i'd consider taking him on loan as I don't feel it's realistic.
Hello. New to the LLM boards here. Fun update. Is your brother playing in an LLM style?

Premiership loan signings?
Humm...
See, I don't see why a Premiership loan signing is frowned upon, or why a scout would even need to uncover him. As a Yank, perhaps I'm just not familiar enough with English football. I'm lucky to know who won the EPL in a given year.
In my LLM-style game, I'm using Player Search for loan & transfer listings. Yes, yes, I know. "No such listing exists." But I assume your football managers have phones, right? If you were hunting for a loan signing to fill your hole at DL, wouldn't you sit down and call some football clubs and see if they have anyone available to loan? Anyway, even if the club agrees to the loan, convincing the player is another story.

It's to do with the jump in leagues: you'll regularly hear of young players from the Premiership going out on loan to teams in the Championship or (sometimes) League One, but rarely much lower than that. Now just because the game's AI goes and find my scout a Premiership player, it doesn't necessarily follow that I should sign him if I try to play the game in a realistic way.

Make sense. For me, I don't mind trying. Version 4.1.5 of CM 03/04 isn't very impressed with my loan offers, and players are usually not interested in joining my club anyway.
I don't see the big deal here, its hard enough to get players as it is for lower league clubs, so why is it such a big deal when we do get players from so far up? The AI will use everything to its advantage, so if we don't use what advantages we've got, then surely we're making it a disadvantage for ourselves just because 'its not realistic'? And then there comes that other agrument...Its a game, not real life! Here's a situation for you, say your really close to automatic promotion from the conference north/south, and theres barely anything between you and the team competing wiht you for that spot. Now what if they have premiship loan signings and you don't? You would feel pretty stupid for not taking those loan signings wouldn't you?
