Now moving on from the Greek B league to the Conference South and to Grays Athletic.
The boards expectation is simply "get a safe mid table position" and the fans don't expect too much either. The next lot of news to follow was the money whcih was available, £6k. (WOW).
Any way, a few players needed to be acquired and I started looking at the premiership teams reserves and under 18's squads. Getting *no player naming* from West Ham was the best deal (on a season long loan). Next was a young Hammers keeper and then a left abck and a midfielder from Chelsea were quickly followed by Boogie Nights.
So far, I am top of the league after about 15b games and knocked out in the second round of the FA CUP, by Hendon.
The nex update will be here soon, after 3 seasons have been completed.
If you want to play LLM style, then you can't go looking at other teams reserve and 18's squads with intent to poach, and even if you do, DON'T name those players here.!! You'll be char-grilled before you can say "Got any tips??"
You're on-board with the 3 seasons completed, but there are a few more rules which you need to re-read.
in LLaMa land, you are actually managing Grays Athletic. In real life, Would the Grays Athletic manager actually have access to the ManUre reserve team, and under 18's team, and would he actually be able to poach their players?
NO!
You have to play realistically. If a football manager wants to increase his squad, he doesn't click a search button that floats in front of him all day, he hires scouts and they wander off and find players. The manager then looks through these players that have been found by the scouts and decides which (if any) he wants to buy.
There are also rules as to where you can send your scouts. The main one is SWYCT (Scout Where You Can Tour). IRL, Greys Athletic wouldn't really have a pre-season tour in Portugal, so you should send your scout there to search for players. it's not realistic.
hope that helps.
There IS a rules thread at the top of the forum which outlines all of the rules. make sure you give that a good read. There are others here that don't take kindly to questions that have already been answered in the rules.
Many a brave man has left here weeping due to the textual onslaught laid upon him after breaking the rules!!

It's more likely that Man Ure youth players would go to teams in a more local area. There is an issue in FM with Premiership youth players going to a lower level than they really would before they are released on a free transfer.
Er....can I make a point guys in his favour. Knowing a bit about Grays, their team is known for taking on West Ham youth players and helping to develop them. The clubs famous for it. Basically it's a circle with the Essex clubs...West Ham youth to Grays, Grays stars (ala this years legendary striker with movie star surname and gippo haircut ) to Southend, and then Southends best players to West Ham (ala Southend legend, current Hammer defender with initials *no trying to dodge the player naming rules*).
He should arguably be more careful with other clubs though.
As a side note, I know West Ham and Grays aren't technically in Essex but it's generally where they get a large number of their players, and a large percentage of their fanbase from....
OK, well... after my slating on this topic, I decided to read the LLM guidelines thread.
After reading it, I kept the same game but chaneged my style. I now don't play the Chelsea boys but I DO still play the West Ham youngsters (thanks TtD).
I have assigned my scouts to places that I can tour (SWYCT). This doesn't really leave me with many places to tour but it DOES work.
Any way, thanks lads for opening my eyes to the REAL way LLM should be played.
