Rep Power: 0 | Season 09/10 - Conference National (again)
So, After thinking he was the big man in getting promoted to League 2, Margate Manager reluctantly shows his face again in the Conference National, with the board and fans both expecting to win it.
To sum up the entire season, there were highs, there were lows, and overall they pretty much averaged out to an 8th place finish. If I posted the League Positions graph, it'd look like a cross section of the Alps. The entire league was pretty close all season, with two wins propelling Margate 8 places, followed by a few losses seeing them lose just as many back down! Strangely enough, I seemed to hold my own against the league leaders, and teams at the top end of the table, but when it came to the team who were rock bottom, I got stuffed. This goes for about the bottom 6 teams.
There were two points of interest this season. Number one was that teams were swooping in left right and center for my players. I had to let two go due to minimum release fee clauses, but these two players went for 400k and 200k!!! Even with that 600k income, I actually lost about 30k over the course of the season. That's the price of promotion and then relegation I suppose. Next season will be difficult financially.
The other point of interest was the FA trophy. It seems I just can't stop winning it!!
I thought I was going to lose in the semis, after losing the first leg 0-2 at home, and then I was 0-1 down at half time in the second leg, so 0-3 down on agg. 72 minutes I start my comeback. 78 minutes it starts to look possible, 80 minutes and the crowd goes wild!!!! Margate have done it. they hold the scoreline and win on away goals. After that the final was just a formality!
in short... I didn't live up to the boards expectations, but they seem satisfied at the moment. quite a few of the players have lost confidence in my ability and have requested transfer. I've given it to them, but actually rejected a few bids. I feel I'm close to the brown stuff hitting the wind machines!
Sorry this was quite a long update... I'm dangerous if left to ramble!!

Though the Pyrenees are more fitting than the Alps. |

that really isn't far off of what it actually looked like, although the left hand side had more peaks and troughs, as always at the start of a new season.

That's the wild Transylvanian thorphy, Church. The Mongolian domesticated thorphy's quite docile.
