 I've just noticed my glaring spelling miss steak in the title, would a mod be so kind as to correct it and save further embarrasment.
played a few more matches last night... won't spoil the details for the next update, but things could be better.
Monkey in the fog, If I did do that, I'm sure he'd score more than my strikers are managing at the moment.

not an update, just a small gripe...
don't you just hate it when you're on a losing streak, and then, finally you look like you're going to get a result. You're 2-0 up with not long left on the clock. You blink and suddenly you've lost 2-3.
Conference National here I come!!!

Last we heard, Margate were struggling to put distance between themselves and the relegation zone back down to the Conference National.
This season was an emotional rollercoaster, and after going on a 16 game no-win streak, Margate finally chalked up a victory and a few draws.
The next 3 teams on the fixture list were 1st, 3rd and 2nd in the league. Lost against 1st place, but drew the other two. I thought this was the turning point.
A few more games pass and Margate face the 3 teams at the foot of the table. The Gate lose all 3 games and are ROCK bottom. Come the end of the season, we need 5 points from 4 games, (and the other teams to lose :-) but all our struggling is in vain. Margate finish the season in 23rd place. Competitions
League Pos - 23rd
LDV Vans T - knocked out in 2nd round
League Cup - knocked out in 1st Round
FA Cup ... - knocked out in 2nd round Finances
Made a profit of £740,102 over the season, much of which was the £400,000 made from star striker and £230,000 from TV money.
Board now expect me to win the Conference National.

thought that was directed at me for a sec there...
| Weelo,
Where is the satisfaction in getting promoted 4 times in 4 years? Kudos for managing it but for me that'd get boring. Besides, it's known in FM that your clubs reputation doesn't grow as fast as your thorphy cabinet, so you could be in the championship but still have the reputation and stadium of a Conference National team, or League 2 at best.
Besides, there's nothing like a good relegation struggle when you've just been promoted. Avoiding the drop on the last day of the season can be more satisifying than winning the league by 12 points.
that said, each to his own. You paid for your game so play it the way you will.
just a side note, don't give playing tips in this forum, the locals start to get restless as when we finally win something (even just a single match) we like to think the victory is all ours, and not down to a tip we picked up on the forum.
