Ashton Update

Hi everyone I'm new here but I have been playing my lower league football manager for a while now so I decided I would try an update:

Season 1:
After starting out with Ashton, things were not going to be easy. Looking at there actual league position (second from bottom and relegated) shows what type of team they are. My season was going the same way, struggling for form, not able to find a forward who could even get it near the goal, let alone actually score! The one bright moment in the season was the FA cup. With a couple of easy games, and a penalties win at Luton I managed to get into the third round. A 5-0 drubbing away at Man City followed but the money from that game would put my club in a brilliant financial position.
The season finished with me hitting some form and going on a run, leading me to safety.

Season 2:

With a huge transfer kitty of £100k I set about making a stronger squad, buying everyone who my scouts recommended would come to me. Not many people would, but the ones that did helped to propel me to the title and automatic promotion to the Conference National. The other cups were nothing this year only getting to the final qualifing round of the FA cup, and not even bothering with the FA trophy.

Season 3: Now in the Conference National with £150k to spend and a large wage bill (£6,000 or so) it was like a dream come true. Managing to get in some League 1/2 quality players who were unhappy with there clubs helped to propell me to 4th, but a few injuries to my small squad lead to me only finishing 6th and not making the play offs. The cups with once again nothing to write home about. FA Cup second round, FA trophy 3rd.

I am currently halfway through Season 4, and my squad is still strong, bringing in a couple of more experienced players to help my younger ones out. Sitting between 4th and 7th depending on which way the results go that week, with 15 games to go. Hopefully a push will lead me to the playoff and League 2 football next year.
