Problem with new EU countries is, that the opening of markets happened a bit fast. Suddenly there's a big offering of different services and products, and also there's suddenly a pretty high demand. (It's new, and everyone wants it.). Financial companies are backing those demands too by giving out insane loans and mortgages. So, with high demand, of course prices rise. Initially. In theory, this effect should weaken within a couple of years (EU inflation rates for the "old" countries are pretty low) but it's hard on the people who have to cope with them all of a sudden.

I may disagree with that, given that Russia is in make-a-decision situation with EU now.
Some regulations say that national market prices shouldn't differ from those in international market more than in given range. This, particularly, means that our gas prices would rise 5x + times, which is simply unacceptable.
Other than that, i can't see what products we manufacture here, which are 'new and everyone wants it' |

there are quite some, and demand for them is pretty high in Western Countries. I think though that they are substantially illegal. |

Ahhh... i don't see, though, how lack of EU regulations prevents that goods from being traded In fact, that's a good thing. We can call it as a 'exotic goods from developing countries'.
But something makes me think you mess us with some Asia countries who used to be in USSR?

nah. They produce. But packaging, advertising, marketing and administration are happening elsewhere. |

about products... Slovenia was always considered eastern market. No shame in that. But what really bothered me always was when the products sent to eastern market had less quality then those in "western market". Simple example was Dash. One baught in Italy really did splendid job. The one baught here didn't wash shyte!
I could go on.

beware, kov. Often it's simply product robbery. Selling crap products but relabelling them and so on.
In other cases it's still relabelling but in a legal sense (franchising). That means that the company in question doesn't really care for the product but they only give away their brand name for a product, for money of course. Great way to make lots of money without needing employees.
And I know how bad it is, kov. You spend lots of money on a product which you think is superior (and finally available on the market) and then it's even worse than the products you were used to.

Yeah, i think of Indesit and Ariston, which actually was the same, but Ariston tended to be 'west-oriented' and costed more while Indesit costed less, but tended to break more offen.
