Season 2005/2006

Conference South

Predicted as relegation battlers by media, supporters and board.

Out of FA cup in 1st round and out of Trophy in 2nd round... haven't got the hang of cups yet.

Won the league with 84 points, 10 points ahead of second... conference national awaits!

Note : my top scorer (signed from Watford) scored for Trinidad and Tobego in the World Cup against Brazil... a conference south player versus Brazil!

I've finished the 3rd season now... will post in a couple of days when I have chance as I'm going offline now to sleep!

Keep it up, good updates too.

The Trinidad and Tobagan striker is pretty good (if I'm thinking of the same one) but still that is some feat! A first in LLM???

Season 2006/2007

Conference National

Obviously we were predicted to be relegated by everyone AGAIN!

Made a few sigings, no one major though. Kept my World Cup goalscoring striker who again rattled them in for me.

With about 16 games left with Redditch sitting 10th in the table but going nowhere, I got a call from Stoke. They wanted me to be their new manager! I accepted!

Stoke were languising 2nd from bottom in League one but only 7 points from 13th place... so that became my aim with 16 games to go.

They had a fairly good squad but little money (for a League One club) and had a current wage total 1 1/2 times more than their budget. After a few signings I managed to get this up to double

One of my signings was my goalscoring hero... who to my surprise was weaker than 3 of Stoke's strikers... so in the reserves he went, followed by a loan period to the team 1 place below us. He finished with 9 goals in 6 games for them.

In the end we finished 15th... only losing 2 games (to the top 2 in fact) a job well done in my book. I will be seriously dissapointed if we don't win promotion to the championship next season.

For the record... Redditch finished 10th.

Note: Pre-season and I have managed to sign a Portuguese ex-Real Madrid winger from Levante on a Bosman. God knows how... but my Spanish scout was sent to Spain on a scouting mission and recomended him. He's agreed to earn just £4,500 a week... my new hero.

Mid-season Update 2007/2008

Well I managed to pull together a team of ex-World Class players from Spain and a couple players from the Premiership. None older than 36, but all old nevertheless.

After 10 games, sitting proudly at the bottom of League 1, with a wage budget about 2 1/2 times my limit, and with half the squad hating me for selling last seasons top scorer to pay for the wage budget, I decided to quit.

I am now sitting here waiting for jobs other than Juventus, Arsenal or Barcelona to come up

Sorry Nobby, I made Stoke suck.

Bryan Robson has taken them over by the way and has won his first 4 games, with most of the players I dropped to the reserves. I've learnt a lesson... only buy if you need to.

Will update if and when someone hires me.

Season 2007/2008

Wow... what a season.

I resigned from Stoke at the bottom of league one after 10 games...

I was then appointed manager of Partick Thistle on Boxing Day. We were second bottom in Division One of the Scottish League. I again signed my Trinidad international and again he didn't figure in the starting line up!

8 victories in my first 8 games in charge took us up to 3rd... then we slowly started to draw almost every match, losing the ones we didnt. Partick were heavily in debt with a HUGE wage budget that was dragging them down. Their playeres really didn't suit my style of play, and so with 3 games to go I accepted an offer from Ross County.

Ross County were 2nd in the same division as Partick (Scots Div 1). With 3 games to go, we were 3 points behind leaders Gretna with only one team going up. I checked my fixtures, and 1st match was the 4th placed team, 2nd match was the 3rd place team and last match was Gretna themselves.

We won the first two matches 5-1! This left us level on points with Gretna with them having a much better goal difference.

Final day of the season... and a cool finish by the league's top scorer made us 1-0 winners....

WE'RE PROMOTED!

I actually shaked when I saw the final whistle come up... I have gone from bottom in League 1 England to SPL in one season.

Bring on the SPL!
