FM2005 was the first time I decided to go into LLM. Being Scottish I decided to go into management with East Stirling to try and pull them out the myre...
SEASON 04/05 East Stirling D3
After a couple of good friendly results and 2-3 reasonable signings, I thought the season ahead looked quite promising and after a couple of wins in the first 5 games I thought I could achieve at least a mid-table finish. However, the defeats started piling up and by November I realised I was going nowhere fast, being 9th in the league. I applied for the Berwick Rangers managers job (10th in D2) and a week later I accepted their offer.
SEASON 04/05 BERWICK RANGERS D2
After an unbeaten run from Nov to Jan I bulked up my squad with some free transfers and loan signings. One loan signing shone through bagging goals for fun from his role on the left wing and my unbeaten run continued until the end of the season winning promotion where it had seemed very unlikely.
SEASON 05/06 Berwick Rangers D1
With the odds stacked against staying in the division I continued to add to my squad with free transfers coming from SPL clubs...mostly teenagers who were not given a chance. One midfielder shown through but by January the club were sitting 7th in the league going nowhere it seemed. However after January they sprung into life narrowly missing promotion on the last day of the season.
SEASON 06/07 Berwick Rangers D1
The season started with some changes to the squad with some more youngsters coming in on free transfers. The team began well and racked up wins in unlikely circumstances withstanding attack after attack from the bigger clubs. As March came the team started slowing down with injury to my star midfielder not helping the cause. But they fought all the way and achieved their goal with a last day draw sealing a place in the SPL.
Other achivements - Challenge Cup winners.
SEASON 07/08 Berwick Rangers SPL
With little wage budget and little transfer funds finding SPL players to help the cause was very hard indeed. With only a new goalkeeper and midfielder signed during the pre-season the squad would have to work hard to stay in the league. After the first 8 games no wins were racked up with an embarassing 7-0 defeat the harshest scoreline. But a win in the next game gave renewed hope. But a season with a few wins scattered around was not good enough and relegation was the only road available to the team.

Seems like a good update, the only grumble i'd have is jumping ship so early in your career.
KUTGW fella, welcome to LLM and stick around

| Ah, a subject close to my heart. I guess, sometimes that you feel the time is right. Two months or 20 years, you get the vibes and go examine your conscience and loyalty to players, friends, supporters and club, and come up with a decision. Sometimes players and boards etc just get right up your nose very quickly. Its not summink to grumble about, managers have to think carefully about a career and whether they are enjoying their time at a club. Often you have to make decisions quickly. Often made to seem a tad more impulsive by drink
This game is about making decisions when you have to, and having to stand by them and be accountable for them. You are the manager, your own man, and you do your own thing.
Good luck eekside |

I must admit to having resigned in my current save because I lost confidence in the abilities of the players. I know I signed them, but I was starting to become like the Bolton manager before the anger management classes, so after four straight defeats it was a choice between fining every player for poor performance or resigning.
Even after the poor run, the board and fans still loved me, but turned out I did the right thing as none of them bemoaned me leaving after 3.5 seasons. And neither did I as I got a job at Salernitana, struggling midtable in C1/B And I actually had some success  |

'Twas truly poetic. On a more mundane level I tend to agree the OP jumped too soon. For a LLaMa the first season is often about sussing out your players, trying out tactics and suchlike; it's in the second season when you've brought in a few and shipped out a few that you start to feel like it's your team, and that's often when the first flush of success comes.

With ES i felt I wasnt going anywhere, my team was failing me and I thought I'd try and apply for other jobs.
Maybe starting again I wouldn't have jumped but I did and thats it.
