It's the 2d view.

I switched it off and suddenly I started enjoying the game again. The game progresses a lot faster.

I'm going to carry on playing FM with the 2d screen off.

Doing that for years already. I never really enjoyed the 2D view for some reason.

I find it makes the game easier tactically, because you can watch parts of the game and see where you are weak and where the opposition is weak.

I used to find that it helped. Then suddenly, it didn't make enough difference. All the tactical flaws seem to appear the same.

Now I just use the text-only and it flows better, even if my tactics are as bad as usual

The biggest benefit with 2D is to identify how weak the game engine still is (although it's still the best, by far, on the planet)

The naivety of defenders, midfielders and attackers, and the "little boy lost" exploits of the goalies are hard to watch sometimes.

Still use it, though
