It has come to my concern and makes me wonder if Sport Interactive actually underestimated the time that is needed to come out with a patch and overestimated their ability to come out with the patch with the given period of time for their latest and successful football management game Football Manager 2008.
It was stated in Miles Jacobson post in his thread titled 8.01 "beta" patch that the FINAL VERSION of the patch will be out in a couple of weeks dated Oct 25, 11:37 PM.

However, glancing at my calendar, the date shows Nov 13th which means the promised release date of the final version of the patch was not met and it’s coming close to 3 weeks without the final version of the patch in sight.
We are the loyal players and of Sports Interactive Football Manager series of games. We purchase it with our own hard earn wages and expect it to run perfectly. I agree that there is always bound to be some bugs in such large scale project, but what irks me most is the promise by Sports Interactive MD, Miles Jacobson that the patch will be release in a couple of weeks time dating Oct 25th but wasn’t fulfilled.
I would appreciate if someone could answer why was a “Pre-Gold Demo” version of the game NOT released for the community to try it out and discover any major bugs before the Gold Demo was released? It was the case previously where a “Pre-Gold Demo” version was release and many major bugs were discovered and corrected before the Gold version was released. In addition, why the game was released less than 20 days after the Gold Demo was released as such there isn’t enough time for the Sports Interactive team to actually start the process of coming up with a new patch for the game so that it can be release as soon as possible when the game goes into retail.
All these are puzzling thoughts came to me ranging from overestimated confidence to unfulfilled promised. I sincerely hope that Sports Interactive can re look their priorities and not be complacent although their game Football Manager is light years ahead of their rival Championship Manager.
