Sorry if I sounded as if I was criticizing you for moaning, I was just trying to give potential explanations.
I'd put that down to your tactics, not your players. Your team is strong, but most people couldn't go 10 months unbeaten with it.
I think they should be marked down, but I'd say the effect is overdone. Lescott, an accomplished left back, was given one star as left back in my team report, despite having 4 stars as a centre back.
OK then, you don't lack depth (though compared to some of the other top teams you aren't that much better depth-wise). I couldn't see those players in the team report though.
Slightly better then. :p Though I'd say it's now slightly over positive.

When are they ever going to fix this? As long as I have been playing FM there have been people on here constantly complaining about this, and everything ass man does in general.

What does it take to get this either taken out of the game or fixed?

what do you want these reports to do exactly, do you want your ass managers to be so good that they can tell you exactly which is the best team to play, what would be the fun in that?

I think in this case, the ass mans personality has got something to do with this, perhaps he is always wants more from his players or is a bit of a pessimist. Possibly he thinks that most of the success is down to good tactics and the players could be better.

Overall i think the reports are good because you dont know whether you should believe them or your own judjement. In my current game i replace kit symonds with teddy sheringham and there did seem to be a difference in the players they liked which in my opion is a good thing.

I want his advice, and it would be nice if his advice was not completely ridiculous for once. I just recently hired a new ass man because mine left, and both of them had warped views of what my starting lineup should be.

I've just encountered the same bug, but working the other way. The assistant gave the whole of the first team 6 or 7 stars, along with most of the rest of the squad. He even gave five stars to a player who wouldn't get into the starting lineup of a team twenty places lower.

Even the worst AM in FM would probably be able to tell you that the team in the screenshot is very capable of reaching expectations.
