Default Managers You Can Call "Friend"

in the world of FM bonds are made and broken between a manager and his players, but one relationship that is often overlooked is the one with you fellow managers. Who have you become friends with, and who have gained evils with?

My friends in the world of FM07 are John Terry, Theo Walcot, David Jones (ex man utd player), and Pascal Armini (on of my ex defenders and youth team manager).

don't you love having friends, it makes buying their players so much easier

never seen anything better than "has a fairly poor opinion of you" on a manager's profile.

seen much worse though - especially on Mourinho's, who I make a point of gloating over at every possibly opportunity!!

I have never so far made friends with other managers because I think it is worthless. I tried builing up a good relationship with Erik Hamrén ones, the manager of Aalborg BK in Denmark, because I wanted some of Aalborg's players. Then when thinks started to go my way he got sacked! And then I could start all over again with the new manager, Troels Bech who I IRL dislike by the way, but came to that conclusion that it was a waste of time...

I believe it's more rewarding to build up good relationships with players that you want.

In 07 I bonded with the following managers

Mourinho, Mark Hughes, Frank Rijkaard, Roy Keane, Ancolotti (I wanted Milan players cheap ) and Roberto Manchini (who ended up taking over chelsea and became my main rival, José was fired in his 3rd season)

But that's nothing compared to the players Or fans for that matter. But yeah, I like the manager friend feature. Gave me a nice reply on matchdays, which my players were very inspired by and buying players for half the price, hey, who can not like that?

It would be better if you could go beyond 'feels the two of you could become friends', to 'Friends', or 'drinking buddies', or 'Godfather to your first-born child'.

I always try to befriend Arsene Wenger because he reminds me of my Dutch Grandma.

Not True, I built up a friendship with Steve Bruce and when He got Birmingham relegated he accepted offers from me that his board had turned down because of our friendship. I landed the players for a lesser price

I am buddies with Avram Grant too, Ferguson hates me though. I think it's because he tried the minds games with me and I didn't bite and whopped his sorry teams arse. He keeps trying to unsettle my best players now.....**** him
