Im sure this is a very simple one for yous.

ive just created a new team and i want to start with no players but a hefty bank balance!

anyway, even though the likes of chelsea etc can have 140m I cant, and if i put a large figure in it simply defaults to around zero when i start the game (although my transfer budget is around £300m, theres nothing in the bank!)

can somebody please explain this.

i noticed this to, the only way i have found around it is to select 1 of the weakest players in the team your going to manage and set future transfer with a stupid fee from a team in a league that your not going to run and then the money takes the balance back above the transfer budget.

Same problem here. I'm going to try Spursfan's workaround... (excellent idea!).

What about the 'Future Income' field below the balance? I might try and experiment with that as another possible workaround.

Ah! After doing a bit of searching in this forum and a bit of experimentation, I've sorted it out.

The max bank balance is linked directly to the club's reputation. If the reputation is at, say, 2500 then you will be allowed a few million, but if you edit the reputation to be 9500+ then you are allowed to have a balance of £250 million at least.

The FM2006 editor did this in the editor itself, so you were not allowed to enter a balance higher than the max for the rep of the club, .... maybe this will be added to FM2007 editor in a future patch??

But with edt you can only edit the transfer budget and not the balance right?

Just tested it and it worked perfectly.

I created a new edt file and added the line :
"BOOST_TEAM" "Newcastle City" 250000000, 0, 0

Newcastle City is a fictional team I created using the editor, 250000000 is the new bank balance, 0 is the new reputation (ie leave it as it was), second 0 is the stadium capacity (again 0 means leave it as it was).

Worked a treat!!
