It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Tired of losing..

so that's what I finally think:waste of time this crap game is real ly highly annoying!!!I just know there has 2 be a supertactic..and I'm tired and bored of losing and drawing, when I would just like 2 have a tactic and always win..take Kassel or Havant&W 2 the CL final! After all that's why I gave away 40 Euros!

P.S.:Yes,I read many threads already and yes I 've downloaded many many tactics, tweaked in a match and so on..Just veeeeeery bored and it's getting more and more annoying..

I know how you feel, I manage a conference team and believe me, i have tried almost every tatctic you can think off, its a very hard game, CM2007 is easier.

While JohnPM has gone the wrong way about it, the point stands somewhat.

I'm sorry, bilkar1985, but even if it were possible to create a "supertactic" (and years of cumulative research on the boards seems to be coming to the consensus that there isn't) nobody has, as yet, created one for download.

If you paid €40 for the game to win the Champions League with Havant with one single tactic then I'm sorry, but you mis-spent your money.

As you've already (allegedly) read the other theory and download threads, I cannot offer you any more help. Go to your local software shop which allows you to trade in games and buy something else.

I don't think it's too much of an exaggeration, and I wouldn't say this to many people, this game isn't for you.

Shame to see so many people struggling, and since no one has offered any constructive advice here, I feel slightly obliged. First of all, I actually feel that helping someone who wants a supertactic and wants to win every game is a waste of my time, since fundementally a game is overcoming a challenge to find success. So, first off you should change your attitude and except that you aren't going to win immediately, and win everything.

To the meat of the post - approach the game as you would real football. Assess the strengths of your team and play to them, and try to avoid exploiting your weaknesses. Example - currently my defenders are quite poor, and so I'm almost guaranteed to concede in each match, so I set up my tactic to score many goals. As such, I win many games 2-1 or 3-2, which doesn't bother me since I get the 3 points. Also, approach each game as an analyst, not a fan. Don't be afraid to watch matches multiple times to look out for problems, and then draw up solutions to each of these problems. I often watch matches I have just played if I haven't looked comfortable, to see just exactly why, and then implement the changes in my tactics. Some things to look out for:

Team playing too wide/narrow.

Team playing too slow/fast.

Team playing too deep/ not deep enough.

Too few/many players joining the attack/defending.

Players getting caught in possession.

Defensive outlets.

Attacking options.

OPPOSITION FORMATION/STYLE.

They are just a few things, but once you get used to finding them, and begin to learn how to implement the changes to correct the issue (don't be afraid to ask on these boards how to solve one of these issues), then you will have a much more solid system. I put the last bullet point in capitals, since it is essentially the most important of them - it generally causes the need for a change to any of the above factors. If you are a small club, the opposition will play their own game and you will be expected to mould to their style to overcome it (bigger clubs can usually afford to retain their normal style, but still benefit from making certain amendments to exploit the opposition). For example, if a team plays quick football, using slow tempo will help take the sting out of them, and they will have to look towards different strategies. They might go slower and shorter, in an attempt to retain possession, so you would then go narrow to stop them passing. Once both of these options are taken, the opposition may try to overload you, leaving room at the back for you to counter-attack into... and score. As you can see, moulding to the opposition can cause them to snowball, as they cycle through plan B, C and D and eventually into disarray.

Finally, as a quick note, tactics aren't always the answer. No amount of tactical nouse can make slow players quick, and incompetent players good. So, do not always blame the tactic when you have problems - see if there are any weak players who you can replace. And if you don't have the resources to replace him, then use your tactics to limit his time on the ball, to avoid him making mistakes. If you have a poor left winger for example, focus passing down the right so he will not come into contact with the ball often, and when he does he will most likely be in decent space.

Do not be afraid to mess around with your tactic once it's made. So many people believe it is a matter of making a tactic and then clicking continue through the season, but this is entirely not the case. You should look to see if you can make tactical changes before each game, perhaps by using your scout's advice on the opposition. Don't be afraid to save tactics - the tactics menu may look messy and unprofessional with loads of different tactics with different names etc, but come the end of the season your results will show you to be the MOST professional manager, since you have made it so your team can adapt to any job.

Hope that helped mate. Good luck. Ciao!
