I'm about to start with Villareal and need some help with a tactic. I'd like to use Riquelme as much as possible, maybe as a playmaker. What's the best way to do so?
And I've noticed Villareal doesn't really got that great wingers so I'm planning to play quite central. Right move?
Any tips welcome. Thanks

right i havent got a clue what villareal's style is so this is a guess.

i play with newcastle, i rely on the wingers! if you have a bit of money try and buy theo walcott trust me he is worth it!

try and use riquelme as much as possible, make him playmaker and let him use his magic! go central, go short passing and slow tempo. against better teams use fast and direct passing, if this isnt that clear i would advise u to go to cleon's sheff utd thread and read through

i played 4-4-2 narrow diamond and worked we for me

and dont set riquelme to playmaker because he gets better ratings when its unticked with free role ticked

and sell guille franco... waste of a squad number

If I recall correctly, Spanish teams play 4-2-3-1 or its variants.

Either this, or they have the 2 wingers as two attacking midfielders when playing narrow. With the wingers, they play wide.

I would suggest building up on one of these, esp the non-wingers type, since you lack the required players.

Use Riquelme as the centre AMC, a playmaker evem. I made a thread for discussing this formation a while back. If you are interested to read more about this, lemme know. I will provide you the links.

Hm, I tried 4 1 3 2. Riquelme as central of the in the midfield and Senna as the DM.
Went ****... 3 draws against crap teams and hammered by Zaragosa...
Forlan and Nihat isn't scoring any goals...

I recently took over Villareal and am 6games into the my Career with them, Its my 3rd year so the teams changed a little got 2 great youth players.

Any how i was lost my first 3games but maneged the rite tactic in my 4th.

IMO the only tactic to play with them is 4-2-3-1

I found playing Riquelme in AML is his best so far. 8-8-8 form. (Rotates with Del'Alesandro in CM/AML)

then i play Valencia in CM along side of my DM, cant remeber there names not to familiar with my squad yet.

I put Nihat as my AMC and some time let him have free role.

CF is Forlan or Xisco. I dropped Forlan cos he sucked in the first 3 games Xisco came in as competition and scored 2 goals in the next 2 games then Forlan came on in the 2nd game for him a had a point to prove so uped his game for me and scored 2 in the sub apearance and a 3rd as he gt to starty the next game.

I will try and post a screeny. But this tactic has won me 3 game sin a row and moved me from 20th to 7th now only 5points behind Barce in 1st position who i play next.

I have won 4-0, 3-1 and 2-0 as far as i remeber.

Will continue to use it and post how it continues or if it fails.
