Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default goalscoring Midfielders

I have been playing FM07 for 8 seasons now and i've enjoyed the new features as it aproaches realism. One thing that bugs the hell out of me which is not too realistic however is the fact that my midfielders do not tend to score many goals per season even if they have good goalscoring attributes and if they are playing further up the park a la cristiano ronaldo.

I have to rely on pacy strikers with good composure or good jumpers/headers from set pieces for my strikers to accumalate goals while the midfielders only get assists or a few goals to add to the cause. I also noticed this in FM05 with my Adriano/mutu partnerhip at Inter.

I have also noticed that players at other clubs like Lampard and Gerrard not seeming to find the net often enough ie. below 10 goals a season (i'm in 2018 and Gerrard has never scored over 6 goals a season, Cristiano Ronaldo a max of 13). Is this a bug as personally i do not conceive this to be realistic as even general midfielders like ballack (when at bayern) was freescoring, Lamps usually picks up at least 15 a season, gerrard scored 21 or so last 2 seasons and CR has hit at least 20 just in the prem?????? So whats goin on SI???

try a guy called lucas from gremio, he is a dm and he is 23 jan 2010 so i think he starts 19 and he's brazilian, im newcastle got him for 7.75 mil was a bargain.
in 100 games, 17 goals and 14 assists 8 MOM's in the premiership. i personally think this is really good as all i want him to do is stop the opposition!
