I am playing Harlepool and promoted to League One in second season. I am currently mid-table. I play a 442Diamond using WWFAN's ROO with a little blend of Synax's stuff. I usually lead in possession, completed passes, shot and shots on goal. I keep losing games 0-1. Especially, away games. Last game I lost to Stockport 0-1 with 8 shots and 6 on goal. My Strikers had most of them and both Finish above 15 (Stokes is 18).
Why am I not putting more balls in the back of the net?
might be lack of composure for your strikers, maybe a streak of bad luck and now they are discouraged and morale is down...
you can try to make minor changes to your striker training, e.g. increasing shooting by 1-2 clicks and decreasing e.g. defense or something else. It worked for me in a striker crisis.
Otherwise it lookis like you're doing ok... be faithful
On Saturday I went to a home game of Sturm Graz against Red Bull Salzburg... shots must have been something like 10-2 and we lost 0-2 So it happens in real life too.

Well, so far, I have stayed the course and it has produced 4 wins in a row since that post. I did make some minor changes worth noting. I had about 4 players on Run With Ball often. Reduced to two. I lowered my Tempo and Width just under normal (basically linked with my key midfielder - Jason Koumas). I have conceded only 2 and scored 9 in those 4 games. One thing I have noticed is that I have increased the number of one on ones with the keeper...sadly, the keepers are standing on their heads and making most of those saves! But at least I am winning.
There's to many people starting to say this for it to be a coincidence. I think people are starting to get a grasp with the tactics but once you do that, this happens.
If it happened a couple of times a season i would say ok, but i've seen it happen 6 games in a row.
I definately know the feeling. I have a feeling like I have a good grasp of the game now but things like this happen all too often. I just went through 5 months, I repeat, 5 months of the most agonizing, frusturating, and infuriating FM or CM experience ever. I have 4 strikers, all 4 were on some kind of goal drought. It's so rediculous in this game. I'm honestly starting to believe that this game was made to be complicated and frusturating just for the sake of it.
IanZG2, believe me, I've played around with different set-ups and found no answer. The the players have high morale. They were hitting the goal just fine up until December, and then all the sudden just stopped. All 4 strikers just stopped. And I'm well aware of the re-ranking, and do adjust my tactics based on scout reports and what the opponent is doing durring the match. Creating shots on target is not a problem for me. I dominate most of my games according to the stats. The fact of the matter is, when the strikers get the ball, they just don't put into the goal, constantly miss sitters. Then I see the opposition's GK get like a 9 rating, when in fact the 5 games before that he was getting 5s and 6s. Usually after the match I get the message that we should have won easily. Well yes, we should have, with 15 shots on goal. After that all I can really do is sit there in disbelief. Luckily I haven't broken anything yet.
