I have been playing CM/FM for 99/00 and i have seen a few changes in that time but mostly i think it has lost its pick up and play value.

You cant just start playing the game and if you are a good team, with a strong squad you generally win more than you lose.But that doesnt happen anymore now its all about 7star training ratings and sliders Farrows Barrows side arrows and any other type of arrows.

I realise tactics are an important part of football manager 2008 as they are in real life but managers in real life dont change there tactic week in week out or after 6 months they stick with a tactic that 1) suits there squad 2) Suits the occasion.

Why is it that you cant just select a default attacking 442 and just use that with out having to move a slider here tick a box there. You should be able to find a bit of consistency with a default tactic.

I understand that people want realism but i wonder how far they take it for example if the play in the championship do the play longball with a targetman all the time as thats what They generally do in the championship

Also i find it funny that people say they have the new super tactic and most of the time they are using barca or arsenal or man u chelski liverpool inter or ac milan or bayern doesnt it slighty take away from your tactic just a thought.

I've holiday tested a number of "super tactics" and none perform as well as the std tactics over a season.

The reason is probably as you have stated
The tactic should suit your squad and should suit the occasion.

I do not think you need to change tactics but if you win games then the opposition are likely to play more defensive.

Picking players, coaches, scouts is just part of game, as is setting training sliders.

You think that managers dont change tactics in real life?

This is a simulation its meant to emulate real life, So it should be like this in detail and in depth.

If you want a pick up and play, go pick up Championship manager where i think there are still super tactics(Not Sure )or even LMA where a dumbass can win..

ISnt funny that as soon as you express an opinio people attack you over it and i never said i didnt enjoy the game i was just saying that it has lost its pick up and play value which i am sure appealed to alot of gamers... Well thanks for calling me a dumbass its appreciated

SO you really think that managers change there tactics all the time do you?? So for example ferguson who generally uses a 442 or david moyes until recently 451 i mean really they might say i want to keep possenion or hit on the counter but on game day they are not going to pull aside every player and give them personal instructions as they are professionals they already know there job. I think training should have more empasis on what happens because really the manager cant change what happens on game day it is all about the players and what they do.
