This is something that really really annoy about he latest two editions. And it could be possible due to my ineptitude granted.

BUT whenever i make tactical changes during a game, it ALWAYS results in things going wrong. For example my two games against Sunderland this season.

Away- I go 3-0 up, then get a man sent off 65th min, so i set them more defensive and counter attacking. Chopra scores a hat trick and i lose 4-3

Home- Im 4-1 up, get a man sent off in the 60th min,. I take off a striker and put 5 at the back. they come back and draw 4-4

This isnt a problem in just the two examples. It always seems to happen. Its commen for managers to go defensive in the final 15 mins and so on to grind out results. But it never freaking works in this or 07. The other team always pull of "Super" ****ing comebacks?

Has anyone else noticed this? or is it just my tactical ineptitudes?

Yea I noticed this also, the only way i tend to remedy it is to have 2 formations which look the same, one called home - one called away, simple eh xD..But the away one which i even use at home when things go sideways, like when i get someone sent off has the sliders way lower offensively. This may not be the best way to do it, but it works for me, i tried this style when i had seen the same problems as you have.

I have my away formation set to play counter attacks and direct passing and much more defensive and less creative freedom than my home formation but all the players are in the same positions, even when i get a guy sent off i just revert to my away formation and either move a player more central to cover it or leave the gap.


as i say maybe its not the best way but its worked 90% of the time for me
