I've never won a lower league. I wouldn't know what to do with it anyway, except maybe throwing all teams out.

As I just mentioned in another topic, you need to learn as much as you can about managing in the game. Study the game manual and learn from any other sources about how tactics, specific player attributes, training, and other items affect the game engine. With a top club, management isn't as critical, because there tends to be more disparity in talent from the top of the league to the bottom. If you can assemble the best squad, then you can probably use default tactics and win the league or finish near the tup.
But, in the lower leagues (or with top clubs in the major cup competitions), management truly makes the difference. Most clubs in these circumstances have similar talent from top to bottom, and just one player or two can make a huge difference. Your tactics and individual player instructions can completely alter how your team performs. And these are the situations when those intangibles like a captain's influence or player morale can make the difference between a 2-0 win and a 3-1 drubbing.
One thing that can really sum it up is attention to detail. In the lower leagues, there is less margin for error. You need to pay attention to every detail about your staff, players, tactics, and opposition. If you are patient and willing to put in the time to do this, and you learn more about the game in general, you will eventually find success.

| Why say the same thing twice
And I hope your not suggesting looking for loop holes in the game engine to exploite
The belief is also you should develop your own tactics not go finding other peoples top tactics and wining everything. :o

I don't think you'd learn how tactics affect the game engine by simply finding someone else's tactic and winning everything.
Actually, I was specifically trying to word my posting very carefully, so as to encourage 100% adherence to the LLM tradition. My simple and vague suggestion is for people to learn how the game works. You'd be surprised at how many people play the game and yet don't even know the importance of certain attributes or don't understand what certain tactical instructions will do. Ultimately, you don't need super tactics or loopholes to become a very good manager. You just need to learn about all the options in the game and all the aspects of players, coaches, and training that affect team performance. The best tactic is to be a thoroughly knowledgeable manager.

League Two isn't LLaMa
Ignore him and listen to the drivellers - you'll be alright.

Basically, what this guy is saying, that in order to be a good manager, you have to act like a good manager.
Now that is helpful, isn't it? |
