Since we use tactics predefined by the game (with some minor tweaks) anyway, I don't see why we'd need anything like that.

Also, I fear a bit like a tactics floodgate scenario in that case.

While we're on the topic of tactics, I was wondering what general experiences people have had with using less common formations. As a general rule, does it seem possible to make nearly any formation work with the right tactical instructions, personnel, and coaching? Or has your experience indicated that some formations will inevitably fail? Please don't name specific formations;; just mention your general experiences, especially with FM 2005.

Personally, I've had some success with a few different formations, but they have all been fairly common. When I last tried something radically different from the usual variations that I use, it was pretty much a failure. I really tried to get the right personnel for the formation, but I had to abandon it after several months of struggling results. And I really wasn't trying to use a formation that was unique. I was just trying to use one that was more rare. Then again, I believe this happened with CM 01/02, and I haven't tried a more dramatic departure with any version since.
