It will be interesting to see if any player based in Oz is willing to pay the airfare and get digs in Blighty on the wages you'll be paying. |

In reality, foreign players crop up in the lower leagues and even in non-league football all the time. There are many reasons why a player might end up overseas, and sometimes it's because the player thinks it's the best move to try and launch or resurrect his football career. So, even with low wages and not much glory to offer, it should be possible to sign at least one or two foreign players, especially if they share the nationality of the manager.

| Indeed, don't AFC Wimbledon have a New Zealand international playing for them at the moment? I think his plan was to do that while waiting for a league club to take notice. So it does happen. Just not very often.

At the end of the day I don't see why Australians and New Zealanders won't play in English non-leagues. Many (seem to anyway) have dual ANZAC EU passports due to the high post-WWII emigration from Europe to Oz (£10 Pommes e.t.c) And if you are a jobbing footballer in a nation that has few professional teams, why not head to the UK, work in a bar in Earls Court (stereotype I know) and still get £100 per week to play footie. I think (IIRC) that St Albans also has a New Zealander playing for them.

Tbh although I don't do this I think this is fairly realistic as in real life many Aussies and Kiwis go across to the UK just for a holiday/adventure etc. and use playing sport at a shitty level as a way to partly finance it.

Not really. It's stretching the bounds of reality.
