Would new scouts help the system to 'refresh'? I've been using the same scouts for 5 seasons. They find very few suitable players, so perhaps its time to get new scouts.

New scouts do not help.

I've been scoutless for some 10 seasons now in my Basque save.

The only way a scout gives a report is if you pinpoint him a target.

Pay extra atention to media, players you're playing against, etc...

It's hard work, but it pays in the end as you get better prey in the scouting.

I've never experienced that at all, Kostis. My scouts plod along and find players, no matter what season i'm in. And my last save was around 12 seasons long with only two clubs...

I've not found that either. I've just jumped shipped and my scouts are worse (and I hired some news ones). Team just promoted to the Prem and on an England search found 3 players, a Dutch search (no players--ok that's realistic but still ), and numerous other searches with few to no names coming up at all.

a. Did you start that save on 505?
b. Are you sure your scouts weren't only finding players already in your shortlist?

Tbh, in my last save (started on 505) scouting was still working after 3 and a half seasons at the same club, and it wasn't looking like it'd stop working yet.

I had just jumped ship to Stockport from Chiari. The scout I was using at Chiari was finding me lots of players - most of them out of my price range as I didn't have any cash to splash.

When I got to Stockport, that's when the scouting problems started, so now I have to find players in a more detailed and difficult way.

Addendum. I also hired new scouts and a new AssMan.

The AssMan worked wonders, till he was poached by another club. The scouts were useless

I haven't had any real scouting problems in my current FM save and it's currently 2030.

Only problem I get is when I try to scout parts of the world where I have no leagues loaded, then I send out my scout for a year and he finds 1/2 dozen sh*te players if I'm lucky .
