Huge DB with England, France N Ireland, Ireland, Scotland, Wales
Season 1 Vauxhall Motors English Conference North
11W 9D 22L 42P -23GD 20th Place Relegated.
(I write these as the season goes on. )
Inheirited a pretty crappy team. Decided to spend as much money on wages as possible until the board tells me to stop.
Taking the "throw lots of **** against the wall and see what sticks" attitude to signings as my one scout spends so much time away
from home, his wife leaves him. Went 1-0-4
in preseason friendlies.. Beating Leek Town 2-0 was the highlight. We open in 6 days against Ashton Utd (another relegation battler)
at the Vauxhall Sports Ground. Im excited to see what happens. My starting ML is out three months with a hip injury.
We start the season by showing two troubling habits...giving up goals in the first three minutes to fall behind, and giving up goals in
injury time to lose points. TIcked off the fans by praising my GK in the press to try and raise his morale as my back 4 are wobbly in the
middle. Won them back by praising my FC.
Things began to turn around in November when we won back to back FA Cup qualifiers and then topped fellow relegation battlers
Redditch 1-0. We dropped a match to Bradford PA but then won three in a row including a FA Trophy game and most impressively beat
2d place Lancaster at the Giant Axe 1-0.
Side Note--MUFC goes out in the 4th round of the FA CUp to Bournemouth!!!! No way I could ever quit this game now!!!!!! Quick! Save
it!!!! Now THAT occurance is crash proof!!!!
The dawn of February sees the optomism of November completely gone. A 0-5 loss to Stafford Rangers ****ed me off so much I fined all
11 starters at least 1 wks wages. The two stiffs who only rated a 5 (the rater must have fallen asleep) were fined two weeks. The
freaken stiffs thought I was unfair. FIVE FREAKEN NIL!!!!!!!! GRRRRR!
Leave it to a Scotsman!!!! I fine the entire team and Mr. Turnbull Hutton Esq., Chairman of Raith Rovers SD1 is impressed with my
novel approach at perniciousness and offers me the job at relegation battler Raith. Its really tempting as I'm still steamed at my
players. In the end, I decide that my players have tormented me, I will torment them back and stick around. A decision I'm sure I will
rue.
Go Figure, as soon as Red Saturday (as my players called it due to the condition of their checking accounts) came and went the ship was
righted and we played better. We go 4W 2D 2L through the end of March and actually move up to 17th place. The big blow came when
my 19 goal SC gets hurt the end of March. With three games to go and 2 point clear of relegation (but in desparate shape on GD)
Harrowgate comes calling. A 1-1 draw on an injury time cheapy costs us two much needed points. With my last two games against
runnerup Moor Green and Champion Barrow, my doom is sealed and I suffer relegaion by a -3GD saving Worcester.
Now for a question.....Should I resign now, or wait for the Axe.
ARSEnal Win the Premiership
My Potters finish 11th in the Championship
Chelsea win the FA Cup.
ARSEnal get a double winning the League Cup
Exeter win the FA TRophy
Chesterfield win the LDV Vans
Season 2
Burton 21st Place 35pts 49GF 76!!!!!!! GA (yes you read that right) I think I need to work on my Def tactics.!!!! RELEGATED
Under the theory that its easier to find a job when you are already employed (I know this from real life), I applied for two open jobs ECN
Southport and EC Burton Albion. Took the Albion job when the Owner told me that I would have about 25000 PS for my transfer budget
but that my wage bill would need to be pared down. Ofcourse, as soon as the June budgets came out he apologized and said there would
be no money provided for transfers!!!! Sent my scout out right away while I tried to hire two more. Ended up bringing in 13 players
mostly to boost up the reserves although I did find a couple of DCs and a ML that could slot in. Of course, my ML immediately got hurt.
After a less that stellar preseason friendly list, that did include a cash infusion from a visit by my Potters from Stoke, my scouts
started looking for potential loan candidates.
My start to the season was embarrassingly bad. 0-4 and 0-3!!!!! I then landed a DC on season long loan from BIrmingham, which
righted the ship on my defense, leading to a 3-1 win for my first points. I followed that up with another season loan from Oldham for a
GK. I then go on an 8 game losing streak. Finally I win an FA Cup 4th round Qualifier vs Altrincham and follow that up with a 4:3 win
vs Scarborough. Have I turned it around???? If I did, it was 360 degrees. Three more losses including a 0:4 to Yoevil (those evil
Glovers) in the 1st round FA Cup demonstrate I haven't solved my defensive problems. With no cash, Im stuck looking for more of the
same out there. Promotion contenders Barrow come calling, and despite a hat-trick from my Sheffield Wednesday loaned SC, my
Defense gives up another injury time goal and I only get a draw---AT 5:5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get warned by management and pull out a win
against Northwich. Im surprised that the win does no good as Im sacked after a 0:1 loss at Gravesend.
Back to the want ad's. Only job open right now is at Monaco. SO it looks like I'll be unemployed a while, although both Carlisle and
Bury are on the verge of sacking their Mgrs. Maybe I'll express interest in them.
I did, and it only took two weeks and I'm now way up north in Carlisle. I can't wait for that road trip to Exeter!!!!!! Of course I was
promised 10K in tranfer funs and was told after I was hired--OOOPS! Did I say TEN??? I meant EIght!!!! Carlisle are hovering just
above the relegation zone wiht approx 8k in cash and about that same amt over their wage budget!!!
I immediately tranfer listed the crap...well, OK, SOME of the crap. I still need to field a team. Sold off a 33 yo for a whopping 1000 in
mid jan for my first cut. Followed that up with a nice 200,000 sale to Swindon for a decent MR. Which gave me some real funds to play
with. As usual, I'm ignoring my wage budget until I get called on the carpet. Pull in what turns out to be a sweet SC for 3000 from
Telford who makes me look like a genius by scoring 7 goals in 14 matches. Carlisle finish the season on a rush and close to 10th
place. My MC wins Player of the month and my DL is runner up.
Burton crash out of the CONF proving that it wasn't ALL my fault. HAH! TAke That you Rat Bastard!
Carlisle finish 10th Place 58Pts 51GF 45 GA
FA Cup -Carlisle Crash out in 2 round to Luton 4:1 before I take Over
FA Trophy-Lose in 5th round to eventual conf runner up Hereford 2:0 (Canvey Island Won Trophy)
Gunners do the triple winnning the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup
My Potters skirt dangerously close to relegation out of the Championship in 19th place.
Season 3 Carlisle 1st Place 27W 10D 5L 91pts 83GF 41GA
A slight favorite for promotion according to the bookies, things went right most of the season for Carlisle. Lost 3 of my first 6 to sink
as low as 17th place, things quickly turned around. My 3000 SC from Telford scored 23 goals, another SC who I loaned twice from
Tottenham scored another 19. I go from 16 Sept to 23 December without a league loss until Morcambe hang an ugly 3:6 blackeye on
my defense. Only a 1:2 loss to Woking after the New Year mars our record and I hold off Aldershot down the stretch to claim the
COnference trophy.
Cups Do Indeed suck Arse although by not having to worry about them helped keep my first 11 on the pitch the after the new year. My
most productive player, the home grown MC who starred at the end of last year suffered a severe groin injury that caused him to miss
the last 11 games was the only sore point.
My SC in now unhappy as he thinks hes playing for MUFC accordingto the demands hes making. But he'll have to suck it up as my
wage bill is way to high. Ive only got 20K to use for this year on transfers, so I'll have to be careful. I'm looking to clean out the coaches
locker room (and my AssMan as well) in this off season.
Aldershot won the FA Trophy ( Carlisle lost on their debut in the 3rd round)
Liverpool won the FA Cup
Chelsea won the Premier League
Inter Wins an all Italian Final European Champions Cup.
My Potters finished mid table at 15th in the Championship.
Burton finished 10th in Conf North
Vauxhall is still nowhere to be found.

Dude...
Do you seriously think someone (besides the moderators ) is going to read that novelle? I'd say print it out and sell the book, you could make a small fortune.

Must confess, I skipped the update once I realised it was going to be so long. Is that post just one season?
