Are you guys pleased with the anonuncement of the Dutch bloke taking over. Impressive enough history. I haven't felt this confident about Australia making it to the World Cup since about halfway through the Iran game!!!

I'm happy with the appointment of the Dutch bloke, i wouldn't go as far as to say i'm confident of making the world cup yet. I do like his request to scrap the friendly against Columbia, and i also like his idea of all future training to be behind closed doors.
Victa - Hows your Austalian campain going?

Oz football certainly is in an interesting situation at the moment. Did anyone else hear the PSV manager said he'd take over in November if australia qualify for the world cup? Does that mean we'll be rudderless until then, or will he do both jobs?????

No idea, wewak. Strangley enough, there's absolutely nothing about it on the PSV site. I did read somewhere that he'll continue there as a coach or in an 'advisory capacity' - I assume that means he is the Aussie coach, and will sign on permanently if we qualify.
And rukus, I'm struggling a little... I'm winning but not by huge margins against Oceanic opponents... and Barrow and Australia share some match days, so my only option at the moment is to forego both matches - in the name of realism. I can't choose which match to play and I can't be in two places at once.

victa - have a look at worldgame.com.au there's a bit of spiel from that man les murray (hope that's not player naming - lol)
as for the infinately more important matter of your LLaMa-ing; i reckon you've got to take a bit of poetic license and manage both teams on the same day, I mean, as bigpants said in one of his update threads, it'd get pretty boring just managing the national squad. maybe bigpants could offer his advice on how he approached this situation while trying to guide his 'native' brazil to WC glory

Took me 18 years to get an international job, with the Ukraine. And a further 2 years to get the Brazil job. I was offered both never applied.
Whichever nation you manage, It's all about reputation. I was top of the Premiership before I got an international offer, no nation however small will stand up and say this bloke who's been in managment for 5 mins and got a lower league promotion or two is the one to take us to international glory.
On the subject of club and country. Keep the two seperate.
Don't use information you gain finding players eligible for you chosen international job to insted of scouting, or to alow you a look at players you wouldn't normally look at.
And it is poetic license as wewak says to manage the two. If you want to have a purely international game go for it, if you want to just manage a international team in a country that boarders the one your club is in do that.
It's a game, all be it one we try to play as though it were RL. Lets not forget this is where wer live out our dreams of greatness, and if that means club and country on two seperate continents then so be it.

It's good to get a bit of feedback from someone with a lot more experience than me. Cheers, bigpants.

It's a little too late to reject the job offer now, but like I say, I'll keep it in mind the next time I start a career. This is my first genuine stab at being a LLaMa - I was bound to not get it absolutely perfect the first time, but at least I've done my best to maintain the realism and ethics of LLM.

Transfer Budget: 140k
Board Expectations: Fight Relegation
Bookies' Odds: 14/1
The season began without the trademark flying start, losing out on quite a few wins, but slowly began to climb the table with some good results, again finding the top of the table at Christmas. It was at this point that I considered that the team was playing well above ability, so I decided to make some sales while the prices are good. I sold one of the winger kids for 275k and when confronted with an offer of 1mil for my leftsided Scot, I couldn't resist. After selling the Scot, the club went into a tailspin and limped home like a dog with three legs, only winning 2 matches from the last ten of the season. Still, enough was done to win the title and seal the third promotion in a row for the Bluebirds. Not even I would have expected that.
There's wasn't much action on the transfer front, with the two players above leaving and being replaced with a decent ex-Runcorn left winger.
The less said about the League Cup match the better, losing out easily to Tranmere in the first round. The FA Cup saw Barrow beat a couple of non-league opponents before losing at home to Burnley in a third round replay. The Vans Trophy run was magnificent, beating all comers before bottling it against fellow league newcomers Rochdale 4-2 on aggregate.
For the third season in a row, I confronted the Barrow board to update the stadium and training facilities. This time around, they were happy to oblige on the training facilities, but 'politely reminded me they were already considering expanding the stadium'. Maybe there's something in the works that the board hasn't told me about?
On the Aussie national team front, I picked up the Oceania Nations Cup as expected, despite a shock 2-1 loss to Fiji, and the media's outcry about the lack of emphatic victories against Oceanic oppontents.
The search for an Australian scout has ended, with the signing of a prominent and recently retired Fijian/Australian player. With a scout based there, it should open up avenues to scout and sign Australian and Oceanic players.
Another season gone, and I'm definitely considering giving the first team a major overhaul next season - I think this about all the promotion wins this team are able to get. As for the Aussie team, now is the time to bring in youth in order to get ready for the World Cup chase.
End of season finances: +3mil

Whilst repeating the "it's your game" mantra, the considered wisdom round these parts is that a manager may quite realistically plead for better training facilities, but stadium expansions is pushing things really.
Good update though and KUTGW!
