You've lost me Victa.

Why on earth would the Australian FA appoint a manager from the Conference when in real life we are chasing a world class dutch manager.

Congrats on the Conf. National title win, but think about it, Australian national team manager?

It blurs the lines of reality I know, but I don't control what the game does, only what I do in the game. And IRL I would snap up an opportunity like that no matter where I was managing.

In my game Lecce just won Serie A. Would that happen IRL? Probably not. But it's possible. Same as it's possible that the Aussie FA would want to sign a promising young media-friendly national boss to promote the game back home. It's possible.

It may be the case that you cant control what the game does, but you can control what you do in the game. You have won the Conf. National and the Conf. North, well done on that front, but i still maintain that it is unrealistic to accept the Austrlain job based on those results.

The past 18 months has seen a massive change in Australian football community. John O'Niel (CEO of Aust. FA) has made some huge changes and we are on the verge of a new era. IMO the soon to be anounced appointment of Hiddig (not sure of spelling, but current PSV manager) is another massive step forward. Take an honnest look at that appointment and the one in which you propose, ie Manager of Barrow, and i'll think you will find you have more than "blurred the lines", you've rubbed them out completely.

ps. Farina was pushing $hit up hill for a few years under the past system. He was too close to the players and the NSL was a joke. He should have fallen on his sword after the Uragauy loss nearly 4 years ago.

Okay, a hypothetical for you:

If a certain businessman were to run Manchester United into non-existance in the next three months, and I were still playing this career at that time, should I reject a lucrative contract to manage MUFC because the club doesn't exist anymore? All in the name of realism?

or...

If i were a artifical manager in your game and I took the Aussie job, would you pull up stumps then and there because that's not realistic to you?

hell, maybe I should quit now! That certain businessman and FCUM don't even exist in my game, surely that has to affect the realism, doesn't it?

The point I'm trying to make, (and I don't think I'm doing it well), is that what is currently happening in real life has absolutely no bearing on what happens inside the game. The game is it's own little microcosm that evolves in its own way. As I understand it, rules and guidelines like SWYCT were implemented to mirror the trials and struggles that a real life LLM would encounter. If we were all bogged down trying to be realistic, then all of us would never take a lower league club to the top, because that's unrealistic.

I think anyone offered any international job in my position, regardless of the country or the manager's nationality, would've taken the job. (Unless they thought it would be too much of a challenge.) That's IRL and in the game. And I think that's realistic.

So there you go, I was offered the job, I took it, And my conscience is clear about it. I've made my decision and I'm sticking to it. And your entitled to play the game your way.

I'm sick of this argument now, can we drop it?

p.s. I pretty sure mentioning names in this forum is a big no no. But I agree with your view on the real-life former Aussie boss.

I"m pretty sure mentioning the ex aussie coach (that's we call 'em over 'ere) would be ok, everyone knows who you're talking about anyway.

I agree with Victa (don't have grass, have a lawn) - with his recent record, why shouldn't he take the job? He's got more runs on the board, coaching-wise, than the certain ex-aussie boss.

BTW. KUTGConsecutivePromotionsAndCupWin

I will follow with interest as my goal is to take oz to the world cup. That's a long way off though, in my first season with Forest Green and it's fair to say I could soon be unemployed.

Victa - I don't want an arguement and i will drop it after this. I will simply state that i belive accepting the Australian job after only three seasons is unrealistic. It's your save, play how you want.

I really hope you do well with Australia, just dont pick that injury prone clown of a winger.

Settled then. Don't get me wrong, I like to hear other people's thoughts on their method, I really just wanted to make my points clear. Best luck in whatever you get up to, rukus, and I'll keep your thoughts in mind next time I start a career.
