That's why I pasted the googlemap... it lets you zoom out until you reach a view that you are comfortable with. Even if that is "somewhere on planet Earth".

Ahh south of Scotland... I get u all now!

End to Season 2005/2006

I turned the job down. I feel i had signed a 2 year deal and should honour it, unlike most LLM's who leave their first job too soon. Turn down Walsall (13th league 2) after 30 games.

The rest of season goes amazingly well. Bring in 4 new players for 6k (only one a starter due to injuries) and move out 4 for £11,000. My bank balance continues to expand and expand... then it happens. A stunning 5-1 away win at Barnet in F.A trophey semi final lead to a job offer

PL-40 W-17 D-16 L-7 F-70 A-42 Pts 67 Place 3rd

FA Cup 2nd Round - 1-0 (A) defeat to Morcambe
FA Trophy - Winners (without me)

Barnet, 5 points clear in 2nd offer me a job, 2 days before the return leg at Gainsbourgh. They admit to being in debt but i believe I believe i deserve a higher reputation club (and no new signings looked likely at GT )

Left Gainsbourgh virtually garenteed to finish in Playoffs and F.A trophy final with £435,000 profit

Barnet 2005/2006 last few weeks

£386,000 in debt and 4k over budget. Win return leg against GT 1-0 but still go out. Squad in general is inferier to what i left behind but has a few stars (injured until play-offs) Achieve 1 point in last 2 games without scoring to secure 2nd spot.

Payoffs - 3-1 aggregate win over Carlile
Conference Playoff final - 1-0 victory over Rochdale

Promotion again

Board Promise me no money to avoid relegation. After spending £110,000 bringing me in Barnet only make £35k

Chelsea win double

Season 2006/2007 - Barnet League 2

Do my usual when i take over a new team and change the whole team. Like everyone else i like to raid my old team but without any trasfer funds i couldnt.

Players in 8 for 9k total.
Including a star loan signing i had at GT (end with average rating 7.77

Players out 9 for 23k total.
Including a 32 DC whom the fans went crazy about

Everyone expects relegation and my ass man tells me i've no chance of anything else. He also critisises a loan striker i bring in as the weakest link (ends with 20 goals). After the First Game (6-1 win over promotion contenders NottCounty) i consider sacking Assman. Then a run of 1 win in next 9 games handing out goals like michael jackson handing out wine (whoops)

Bring in 2 defender which make no difference then a 36 year old keeper who makes the difference (he gets injured in first training session but i start to win)

Throughout my rise up the table i sell a further 7 players for £116,00 and buy another 4 for £38,000

I also use all possible loan allocation becauses unlike GT where i had no injuries, i get 2 leg breaks and (my favorite) fractured skull on top of lots of annoying minor injuries.

Final Stats

League 2 - 1st -- Pl-46 W-23 D-16 L-7 F-83 A-53
League cup 1st round - 2-0 (A) Wycombe
LDV Vans 1st round - 2-1 (A) Bristol Rovers
FA Cup Cup 1st round - 2-0 (H) Margate

Bloody cups

Despite the success of the season i applied for other jobs (offered Port Vale 24 L2, Notts County 22nd L2 and Bradford 20th L1) but turn down because i want the Gainsbourgh job again. They finish last in the conference with my team minus a few expennsive sales. They must be loaded now.

Don't expect to be Barnet manager next season and have applied for Cheltenham job (relegated to Conf) I've just never enjoyed being manager of Barnet!

Looks like Barnet after all

Cheltenham promote Ass man ahead of a 3 times promoted scots superstar. They had money to spend as well

Anyway, off to T in the Park tomorow (i know my priorities are wrong) Don't tell my work!

Off thread i know but Clyde (Scottish 1st of three crappy divisions) have a friendly against Man U on Saturday and have no players signed yet. This would be a great addition to FM2006 starting a team with no players, just like in real life.

That "feature" is already impelmented in fm2005. It aslways has been. The real problem however is attracting players, because no one wants to sing. Not even 38yo waiting on free transfer.

And even if they do want to sing, they can't carry a tune...so that's why there's always small crowds.

Season 2007/2008 - Barnet League 1

Its fairly obvious by now that i dislike the Barnet job and throught the season i look for a more suitable post (but not at clubs higher up than me) I think its because i blame Barnet for costing me my first ever Non-League trophy despite winning both legs of the FA Trophy Semi!

Relegation seemed the most likely at the benning of the season, again struggling to bring in players for key positions DMC and DL. My Scout sucks :thdn:

Bring in 6 players for 9k with a decent DLC arriving after his loan spell in League 2 for another 8k. Out go 9 players for 41k. This includes my first ever youth players who are the worst i've ever EVER seen. London must be a poor breeding ground for players! Cannot even give away the highest wage earner who started well last season (offers of £150k turned down) but after several injuries has gained 3 stone it seems over the summer.

Start well again with 3-0 (A) to promotion contenders Watford then real life starts again. Slowly slip down the league (twice asked about leaky defence) until

PL-18 W-5 D-6 L-7 F-22 A-31 Pts 21 Position 18th

League Cup third Round - (A) Newcastle 4-1
Only 35,000 of the "best fans in Britain" show up but transform my finances (although budgets remain the same )
LDV Vans Quarter finals - (A) Gillingham 3-2
Have to play League 1 teams everyround
FA Cup 1st Round - (A) Scunthorpe 3-0
Conference playoff team take apart a 9 man team (fines all around for 6 players)

Barnsley offer me job 22nd in League 1, 7pts behind barnet, out of all cups but 3million to spend with 38k wage budget. Although its my second choice (behind Gainsbourgh) i accept because GT manager is unlikely to be sacked while running away with Conf North.
