During the summer, I sold one of my younger strikers to the dismay of fans, I felt I did a good bit of business. I signed two good centre backs, a young wingback, and a few games in a 'keeper. Aswell as a loan signing or two, but still things didn't look good. After seventeen games I was bottom, with eight draws and nine loses. I decided to declare my interest in the Forest job, and my board and supporter confidence went down from very pleased to unstisfied. I issued an ultimatum for more transfer funds- without them we were going straight back down, and I was sacked, albeit 'reluctantly' according to Mr Madjeksi's press release.
2009/2010 (Second half) - - - Hull City - - - League One
£10.5m to spend on transfers, I couldn't refuse, despite them being 19th in League One. 12 new players, £7.25m and 17 league games later we sat 10th in the division. Hopefully my squad will have gelled properly, and next season I can put up a real fight for a promotion spot.
Position: 10th Cups: Knocked out of all cups before I got the job. Finances: Bloody excellent.

I only felt the need to bring in two players in the summer, as I felt the squad I now possessed could easily get me into the Championship. However 17 games in, while my side lay 3rd in the division, Watford (19th in the EPL) offered me the job as manager, with around £15m to spend. I accepted, after some guidance as to whether this was a realistic move

Watford were well below par, so I had to go to work straight away, searching for players and ordering my scouts to look around England and Italy. I had a month until the transfer window opened, and the gap between us and the relegation spots were widening with every defeat, when I got the job we were nine points away from safety.
During the transfer window, I brought it in a French attacking midfielder from Inter Milan, a striker (son of a famous Liberian striker) from Juventus, a South African international defender, a Manchester United left back/midfielder from Switzerland, a Barcelona B centre back, and a goalkeeper, spending a total of £14m. Even if we went down, with a squad like this we should go straight back up.
We finished 19th, 7 points adrift.
