You've lost the point, and quite desperately at that.

Besides it's not us Yanks fault the Poofs invented the term to differentiate real footy from the boring version that the American game derived from.
Anyway, KUTGW!

Heh, if I wanted to play my game in peace, I wouldn't have posted here.
I expected to get hazed on many things, my nationality one of them. I'm just surprised, and almost disappointed, that kovalenkov hasn't run in here with faces decrying my team selection.

Rep Power: 0 | Northampton Town - English First Division
Balance: £2.1M, Transfer Budget: £700k
Wage Budget: £48k/wk, Current Wages: £26k/wk
Expectations: Same as last year - Battle bravely against relegation (board), rebuild team (supporters)
No major signings this year, although I did swindle £430k by moving two under-performing defenders. An extra year of experience should result in a slightly higher league position. Sure enough, Northampton starts off in good form. They are regularly in the upper half of the table, largely thanks to some great performances by one of my centrebacks. My triumverate of strikers trade time, injuries, and goals - but none really excel.
Instead of last year's December swoon, Northampton instead made some excellent cup runs. Some very favorable draws in the League Cup helped the Cobblers to the semi-finals against Arsenal. Although Northampton was no match for Arsenal, the round was worth almost £900k in gate receipts. Northampton didn't progress as far in the FA Cup, but did defeat Leeds on an away replay before falling to Chelsea 0-1. The cups probably brought £2M in extra income this year.
After exiting from the cups, Northampton played flat in February. Northampton finally snapped out of their funk after a dismal 0-5 drubbing at the hands of Milwall. The Cobblers return to form, and found themselves in the playoff zone. The thought of the Premiership is exciting yet scary - Northampton does not have the quality to compete there. The Cobblers finish the season in 6th place, and soundly beat West Ham in the playoff semi-final. A direct free kick goal by Milwall doomed Northampton to a 0-1 loss and another year of Division One.
Less awards this year - My star centreback made the First Division Select team. Also, one of my midfielders scored the Goal of the Year by volleying a curling strike from 35 yards out. Next year's top priorities will involve a top striker and a better midfield partner for my rising midfield star.
Financially, the year was an enormous success. Between the cup runs, the playoffs, and prize money, Northampton Town made over £4M in profit. Sadly, the balance won't reflect it as most of it will go for 3800 new seats at Sixfields. Division One - 6th, 20-13-13, 73 pts, 64 GF, 54 GA, +10 GD
- lost in Division One Playoff Final to Milwall, 0-1 FA Cup - Defeated in fifth round by eventual winner Chelsea League Cup - Reading. Northampton defeated in semi-finals by Arsenal. EPL - Arsenal, Man Utd., Chelsea. Champions Cup - Arsenal

Two points.
First thing: Your a Billy WaggleDagger Fan aren't you? I mean, why else dream of going on long-haul Holiday to the Coventry area?
Secondly, Cobblers would be sponsored by the local shoe industry - Unfortunalty the largest local manufacturer, based in Wellingborough near to Northampton, Already has major involvement in a club entitled R&D.
