Thanks for the feedback guys, I am slowley getting you all up to date, but I am incredably lazy when it comes to work, especially with all of the tennis, cricket and rugby on the box at the moment taking up most of my time at home! |

| As the 'Axis of Excellence' refurs to a tactical style of play I will be unable to go into much detail about it in this thread as it is against LLM rules. So, to avoid not breaking this rule, if I get alot of interest in it I may open another thread in what ever the tactics bit is called, but there will only be an explanation, definately no download as it is an 'idea' more than and actual 'tactic'. Sort of like when people say 'Total Football'.

The true LLMers would prefer no reference to it apart from the oblique one you have made.

| I might be being dumb here but what does oblique mean?
Also, I have also decided to make no detailed description about it for th time being.

After my first 2 years of LLM I decided to take a slightly different approach to this season. At the start of the season I brought in some more decent players but couldn't really find anyone to have a large impact on the first team, although I have a new first team Goalkeeper and a new Centre Back.
The first thing I had taken note of was the fact that Fitness is probably more important than the players actual ability, which meant that my taining schedules because alot more fitness orientated with the simple goals of getting the players into 100% condition for every match and improving stamina. I am sure this had an effect as the number of late goals I scored increased massively.
The other thing I realised is that tactics must work on 2 levels: the team and the player. I had always just set team instructons then player instructions in accordance to that. This time I used team instruction to say have the team should function overall and the player instructions to ensure the player plays to his strengths.
These changes in my Management Style had a great effect on my results and form. At Christmas I was in 7th place in the League and the play-offs looking a distinct possibility.
