Right, I'll take this opportunity to go through the LLM "Ethos" the way I perceive it. I'm reasonably confident that most of the regulars agree with me on most points, if not all.
Player and Tactics Naming
Those two things are simply not tolerable I don't thing I'll need to expand on that. Except that it also means that the TT&T and GPG fora are exclusive to LLM. You can't do both, it simply doesn't make sense to accept the LLM guidelines while visiting those other fora.
Editors and other third party software
While it would sometimes seem reasonable to alter the database to make it more realistic we are only human. That means it will be damn hard for most of us not to "play favourites." Hence no third party stuff.
Choosing a Team
Lowest division only.
let me say that again, lowest division only.
Exceptions?
Crap computer, in which case I'd say Conf National in England.
Accepting Job Offers
i remember a time when that wasn't a concern, the now legendary CM0102(still one of the best footy games out there) made it very hard to jump through divisions.
Therefore the established guideline is jump rougly one division. Ask yourself whether the jump would be realistic.
Scouting
SWYCT, Scout where you can tour. One of the longest standing guidelines.
An addition has been made. SYB, or scout your borders. Both are acceptable guidelines.
Player Search, Transfer Screen et al
Players are scouted 'nuff said. I don't care about internet lists or word of mouth. Scout Before You Sign.
SBYS!!
That's about it. It's all in the guidelines, however, I'm pretty confident that a reminder doesn't hurt.
A former Aussie mod always used to say that there aren't rules in LLM, only guidelines. Taipan was a great mod, as great as those we have today, however, on that exact statement I personally beg to differ.
Iaj, has always said that: "You bought the game, you play it the way you wont to."
Occasionally followed by a: "Just don't tell us about it."
I can find several reasons in the above rant to justify my statements about "Axis of Excellence" not being LLM. You might not care and that's fine, but I will continue to make my argument as long as I don't consider that thread or any other thread LLM.
That's not a threat btw, merely a humble promise
