Not the best we are 6/5/7 at the moment about 16th in the table.
I have commented at times about other managers and I have praised or given warnings about performace.
I was having a time of about 6 games where I did not have less than 5 yellow cards a game. near the end I had about 4 players on the senior squad that were going to be suspended for too many yellows, so .. I handed out some warnings and then fined a player for being on waring of suspension and then getting 2 yellows in that game.. getting him booted and still being on warning for one more yellow.
Now they all hate me??? I have almost all morales down to poor, or very poor, even the players playing well and those that I praise.
I am not getting this morale stuff, and I am getting my ass handed to me by the bottom of the table teams.
Any advise as to what I am doing.. or not doing right???
Now I am Canadian, but grew up in a ENG/IRISH/SCOT town and played football since I was 5.
I go by my experience and I want advise, not hints in the game. As a new manager I am asking for some insight.
When I played, you gave full effort or was benched, you played a good hard game, but start hacking on a regular basis, and you hurt the squad.
As a talent level I feel my side (Exeter nationwide conference) should be top half at least and with a little luck, outside looking in for playoffs.
I had a point after we won 1 rnd in FA where everyone was VERY happy, but the cards, results, maybe my comments?
I dont understand the benifit of saying nice things about other managers?? where does that get you?
I remember one league game I played (Conference South) where 17 yellow cards were dished out - ten to my team - and not one player got sent off.
My team weren't even set on hard tackling either.
I was expecting a fine or something to come through from the FA. Good job really, the cheque would have bounced anyway.
