Why haven't SI taken the steps to improve commentry. The lack of immagination, the repetitive phrases, my word, it's just rubbish. It would have been more enjoyable to read less and worthwile comments which give you an insight into tactics. The sentence structures are just diabolical. It seems to me it is directly translated from Italian or something.

Ever listen to the robots that commentate in real life? Sure, SI could probably improve on it but I'd prefer getting real games with only a little banner of commentary at the bottom, easier to ignore the lot of them

Personaly I find the comentators to be realistic. Most commentators don't know what they're doing half of the time. But yeah, a little more personality wouldn't hurt.

But you can't say they aren't realistic.

I'm pretty sure there are some custom commentary packs out there, although i've never tried one, and haven't noticed them to be popular either for some reason.

I've edited a lot of the commentary so it's not quite so dull and repetitive. Took ages but I enjoy adding my own little touches to the game

Direct literal translations are rarely effective at communicating what you mean, especially if you're being descriptive.

If you directly translate the phrase "out of sight, out of mind" into Russian and back, it returns "Invisible idiot", which you can see where it comes from, but doesn't really translate the meaning of the phrase.

For example, If I translate "This is the Malonga show!" to Italian and back with babelfish, it returns "That is the exposure of Malonga!"

That honestly was the first one I tried.

Maybe SI can have the commentators just mention the name of the player receiving the ball with no additional commentary regarding what is actually happening on the field. It might read something like this (which sounds a lot like most commentators if you watch a match with your eyes closed) Giggs...Scholes...Tevez...Rooney...Nani...Rooney
