But you have to start out as a club manager and become good enough so that national teams want you. they will then offer you a job or the other managers will be fired. At which time you can apply for a job and, if you've done enough to impress the federation with your club team, you'll get the job and be the manager of both your club and the national team in question.

Currently managing ManUtd and Spain. ManUtd are doing much better than spain though... I need that wayne rooney kind of player up front, and spain just doesn't have that....

Actually Canabary, there is another way you can do it. Just simply, when you start a new game, just pick a national team to start with. You don't necessarily have to wait to get offered a national job

If you set your past experience to International Footballer rather than automatic when you add a manager they are more likely to get an international job quicker.

After that it depends what you want, but after the African Nations in February first season at least 2 of the managers of top African teams get sacked.
