One of the main complaints about this game is that the patch isn't even out yet. If there wasn't ever going to BE a patch, what would you people complain about? Would you buy another game? Would you complain about that not being patched?
People are now finding absolutely anything to whinge about and then blaming it on the as-of-yet fictitious patch.
"FFS SI where is the patch?!? My left back scored two own goals! Then my wife left me because I set fire to my house!"
There are thousands of people playing the game all the time, each game being completely unique on each PC out there. There's bound to be anomalies and quirks people find along the way. That's the nature of this type of game. There is no way SI can somehow fix everything 24 hours after someone posts a thread complaining that their right winger hit the post but it counted as a goal anyway...for the other team and you were somehow knocked out of the Johnson's Paint Trophy inexplicably by Bognor Regis who were playing with two goalkeepers up front.
When this patch IS released, don't expect it to completely revolutionise your game. They're ongoing. Any errors you find, post them in here. Don't throw a complete wobbler and open 17 new threads whining how you're wasted your money. SI need to address issues but not as quickly as some of you lot do. Progression, see?
Carry on. I'm off to set fire to my house. Bloody Bognor!

See, I disagree that it's a poor quality game. I enjoyed FM2007 and I am actually enjoying FM2008, believe it or not.
Obviously there's a few niggles here and there but that is to be expected. There's nothing putting me off playing it at the moment and I'm interested to see what the eventual patch/patches do to IMPROVE the game.

Fine thoughts sir, alas, some idiots (see above for case in point) are not blessed with the same level as reaosn as you or I.
Let us be thankful that SI have a forum and talk to the public, let us be further thankful that we aren't complaining on the Total War Forums where, quite literally, noone cares.

Who cares? If they dont want to play it anymore, don't !! Just stopo boring us by telling us!!
The game is fine and its enjoyable, the confidence and expectations is slightly annoying but doesn't stop the game being fun!
Oh and the amount of "my team got hammered" or "I am conceding too many goals" bug reports are annoying aswell! They sound like a premiership manager, blaming defeats on everything other than their team and/or tactics!
Arsenal just beat my Leeds 6-2 in the FA Cup 6th round, but it wasn't a bug. My players played crap!!

Empowering little people with nothing else in their lives but a football sim, to be able to ananomously express their thoughts, opinions, demands, etc etc will lead to the sort of posts we see around here.
It's easier for them to post a vitriolic post rather than interact with other humans.
I too enjoy the game, and don't believe anything there is a show stopper, but, I am looking forward to the patch, simply to (hopefully) see an end to all the whingeing around here.
Yes I know they are entitled to their opinion, but really, I've had pets that could express themselves better and with less rudeness.

I enjoyed started to play the fm series from last year and I enjoyed fm07 7.0.2 a lot and a lot. I came here praising SI for their great effort that that time.
However, that does not mean I can force myself to think that SI is still great after they releas fm 08 which contains major bugs on initial release in relation to: Board confidence, morale, close down, disallowed goals, too many goals, too many long shots, missing most penalties, fixtures (Scottish and EPL, EPL bug is minor but affects the realistic feel) etc etc. I don't want to quote the whole of the known issues list here.
It is fair that people who have not yet experienced those bugs think that the game is playable, enjoyable and also feel confused, miserable and annoyed by the amount of complaints in these forums.
However, I think it is equally fair that those of us who have experienced one or more of these bugs voice our concerns and express our opinions on a game that we purchased. While I contribute to the bugs forum, I also question the methodology of SI's developing/testing as well as their professionalism and attitude towards their own series and their customers in the general discussions forum.

Sorry if this sentence does not make sense due to my lack of proof reading -.-
Let me do it again:

Wolfsong you are right. People should voice their concerns, but it should be in a logical, constructive, respecful way, not the typical moaning and disrespectful way most of the posters present their "material" on the forum.
Some should learn what is or is not a bug, others how to use a search engine, and the rest a little patience. Just my opinion.
