What annoys me is the amount of
"Right I am not playing the game anymore"
Who cares? If they dont want to play it anymore, don't !! Just stopo boring us by telling us!!
| It's easier for them to post a vitriolic post rather than interact with other humans.
Well i could argue what is also annoying is people who post things like this, i have read it just as much as i have "the game is #### ffs", maybe you posting your point of view is just as annoying as them posting their point of view..
I enjoy the game, it has been frustrating playing with the bugs, but maybe i expected to much for this game to be playable out of the box, which i dont think it was.
Either way, just as you are entittled to you opinion, as are the 'moaners as people call them..

I'm actually enjoying the game myself but only because i haven't gone past about three seasons.
What you guys are suggesting is that its okay for SI to sell people a broken product, and yes it is broken. I have been playing since CM2 and absolutely love this game but i think it is seriously wrong that we are being used as beta testers for this 'final version' of the game.
Usually testers get paid, i had to pay £24.99 to be one!
Oh and another thing : 'little people with nothing else in their lives but a football sim' you do know this is the FM forum. What do expect to find in here? a tea drinking rugby fan expressing his delight on how well his uncles horse's are performing??
Lodge.

I bought the game on day of release but haven't played seriously yet due to niggling bugs so I am waiting for the final patch.
But I'm not moaning about it, SI are the best at developing these games AND supporting them.

Good Post, seems to me that there are two different camps on here (SI Lovers who would never dream of saying anything bad against FM and others who type before they think) who are constantly at war with each other and the rest of us are caught in the cross fire. I was really enjoying playing the game however I have temporarily postponed my FM career until the final patch due to the Crash Dump bugs becoming an obstacle and I’ll admit it bugs like this are extremely annoying and it did make me fall out of love with the game for a while (well a few seconds anyway).
This is the point where I could start harping on about having played this game since CM2 blah, blah, but I'm not however I do think that we have had to put up with more and more problems/bugs as the game has progressed and became more expensive. HOWEVER....I think this is the price we all must pay for a game that is expanding at such a rate (features, DB size etc) as FM now is.
This is my opinion and if people out there want to flame me for it then so be it.....bring on the pain. :p

| I assume "some idiots" is directed at Wolfsong who has been posting some of the most sensible posts around lately. He has an opinion. You have yours. Just because the two opinions conflict does not make him or anyone else "some idiots". Say that to the "ZOMG I GET 2 GOALS 1 WAZ OFSYDE OMG!!!!11oneone" people, not the people who make decent effort to voice their honest opinions. Bullying is not nice. :thdn:

The game is fine and its enjoyable, the confidence and expectations is slightly annoying but doesn't stop the game being fun!
Oh and the amount of "my team got hammered" or "I am conceding too many goals" bug reports are annoying aswell! They sound like a premiership manager, blaming defeats on everything other than their team and/or tactics!
Arsenal just beat my Leeds 6-2 in the FA Cup 6th round, but it wasn't a bug. My players played crap!!
| Erm the amount of goals being scored/conceded is a known issue- particularly with the release version and to a lesser degree the initial beta patch.
Its just human nature that people will tend to complain more when it goes against them rather than when they win 6-0. Regardless an issue exists depending on what version you are playing and people are entitled to complain.

Alas, those with the strongest and most marginal views tend to shout loudest.

FWIW, I have yet to see a penalty missed or saved since I started playing FM08 a few days ago, and I'm playing at low levels too - Brazilian Third division, Serie C2, German Regional. Equally, I don't find the number of goals being scored to be unrealistic or unreasonable.
This highlights the point (and debunks the opposite view) that these issues simply DO NOT crop up everywhere. Obviously I have not yet played in England or Scotland, and I have had "issues" regarding Mexico D1A, but I know SI will fix these problems, and my solution up until that point is to just play the other leagues and maximise my enjoyment of the game.
People are entitled to their little gripes, but it would be a lot more pleasant for all those concerned if, like Wolfsong, they expressed their views calmly and constructively.
I ma not of the opinion that FM08 is a poor game - I would recommend it to any fans of the genre and certainly to any players of previous versions. I find 8.0.0 to be far more playable than 7.0.0 was (even though v7 wasn't even that bad), and with the 8.0.1 beta patch the game is of a quality that E***s could only dream of with their cheap, shoddy imitation.
In other words, KUTGW SI, and keep the faith all you FMers - if there's one thing I know from the 11 years I've <STRIKE>wasted</STRIKE> spent playing CM and FM, it's that SI will get it right.
