So you think managers just go "alright lads, 442, see you in the dressing room after the game?"
You don't think, for example, that managers spend hours a day drilling what they want and expect from players in training? You don't think that magers pour over extensive scout reports of their next opposition, watching video evidence, studying both the opposition's performance and their own team's performances?
Rafa Benitez, for example, is well known for spending hours and hours every week simply watching Liverpool's last match, finding out what went wrong, what went right etc.

| I didn't say they use NO tactics.
I SAID that tactics are not as important as the quality of the players. Which they aren't.
So there!

| Whatever you say I won't be convinced that tactics are not ridiculously overblown in FM.

| And this is a game, not real life.
As has been mentioned on another thread, we don't ge thte chance to 'drill' the players on the training pitch and I would hope that no one spends hours watching each game over and over to see where things went wrong.
The point I wanted to make with this thread is that you can select sensible tactics like 4-4-2 with a slight attacking attitude and lose game after game after game without getting a shot on target, and you can make a totally random, wierd one like that and still be able to score three times in one half.
How do these tactics work?
