Ram woudlnt really affect your frame rate, which is causing you lag. Its more likely the video card, try and tweak your video settings to see if that improves, if it allows.

I've got 1GB on my computer, and the match runs fine(except the stuttering replays).

I've got 512MB RAM and I've never had any problems whatsoever, even with replays.

Video card has almost no effect whatsoever on FM performance. Rendering small circles moving around on a 2D square isn't exactly a hard task for modern day video chips, even for the poorest Intel ones. FM needs lots of ram (1 GB is not much, but it should handle it fine under normal circumstances) and a good CPU. I would also try to close all unnecessary processes when running the game, including virus scanners and programs that have integrated anti-spyware/malware components (firewalls etc) as these usually eat up a lot of memory and tend to interact with running processes trying to find malicious activities, this can slow down the game a lot.
