I have amended the db and saved it (It didnt give me a choice of where to save or it only let me give it a name, description and a version number).

When i start a new game how do i get the computer to use my db instead of the "Default" db already in the system.

When i start a new game it does not pop up "Which db to use" ?????

I have not down loaded the patch yet does this make a difference.

the patch won't change anything
when you start a new game it should ask you with what database you want to play

If you have changed the User Data Folder in the game, then that's the reason the Select Database Dialog doesn't pop up when you want to start a new game. You need to change this setting in the editor as well, so that the editor can save the new databases to the correct location. Unfortunately this setting was missing from the first release of the editor, so it would always save it to the default location, if you download the patch you can change the User Data Folder in the editor as well. Making sure that the editor saves the new databases to the correct location.
