Does anyone else get this happening often? I have tried lots of different strikers but they just miss whereas my opposition puts away each chance!



I create good chances too, my training is okay as shooting stats are ok, I have five star coaching.

Is this a bug in the game? I outplay teams and am near bottom of league because of this.

check the highlights because your chances could all be half chances, snap shots, long range efforts

This has happened to me before, far to often and people on here blame it on everything like poor chance, lower possesion, players compusure but thats crap.
The truth is irl you don't always have to score by creating good chances. Goals can come from anything and even from nothing. The most important thing is to create chances, well that's irl life but then that doesn't carry the bugs that are in FM 2007.
Yes we all know it can and does happen irl but it can happen 6 games in a row with this game.

I completely agree with all of you.

How about this, I have had games where I have 30+ shots, with around 12-14 on goal, and guess what, I get maybe 1 goal, maybe. That's also with having 4 world class strikers in my ranks. All four were on either a complete or a semi goal drought for 5 months. Then I look at my opponets stats... hmm, well they have 3 shots, 1 on goal, and guess what, they actually scored one goal.

It's one hair-ripping game after another in FM07.

Also how people keep saying SI are following the 'realism' route. What would Sir Alex think of having to choose one of 5 phrases for his teamtalk week in week out???

It truly is pathetic at times - forget what all the Manager Gods on here say when they are playing constantly with Man Utd etc

Simple fact is, there is so much BS surrounding this it completely kills the game for people ..

I've been scoring goals for fun in my current game .. dominating games completely and creating a shed load of chances ..

All of a sudden, for no reason, I've gone 6 games where they can't hit a barn door ..

Possession is still in the 58-60% range .. in each game I've had 20, 14, 17, 17, 15, 15 shots on goal however, now, only getting 2, 1, 1, 2, 1, 4 on target .. game results all of a sudden 0-0, 0-0, 0-1, 1-1, 0-0, 1-2 ..

shots against me in those games comes to 10 total with 4 on target .. and they score each one .. yet most of my shots (98 shots, 11 on target in the 6 games) and mostly when its a clear shot on goal end up in the sea behind the goal ..

Seriously, its pathetic at times ..

In my opinion, this game runs way to heavily on tactics. Either that or it really is sometimes out to get you.

It's a great game in all. Just for us not tactical geniuses who don't want to spend half an hour building a tactic, it is rather difficult.

That is exactly what is happening to me too. I constantly see in the text commentary "That was a real sitter, can't believe he missed it" or "They should have won this game easily" after a 0-0 or 1-1 draw. Yeah of course I should have won it easily, I have1 15 shots on the damn goal, compared to my opponent's 2 or even 1 at times.

I'll accept the fact that this will happen sometimes durring the season. You'll have some fluke games, however, when it's 5 months in a row of this BS... Well, the words can't describe the feeling. And I'm well aware of the re-ranking. I do adjust my tactics according to the scout report and the in-match situations. After all, if I didn't, I wouldn't be making 10-15 shots on goal in 90% of my games.
