It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

i can understand the west ham example but they had 3 goals in 3 shots! 1 in 1 is realistic, that happens! but 3 in 3 that isnt realistic, it just doesn't happen

These counters are often clear cut chances, because the top of the table team has committed men forward. I've done it many times being the underdog, where the AI team has battered me for Shots on target and possession, but I've nicked a 3-0 win away from home against a top side having only 3 shots at goal.

Sometimes you will simply be beaten by the much-improved AI, sometimes it's luck. But the luck goes both ways, just seems that nobody is interested in talking about the times they get lucky, just complaints when things don't go their way.
the opposition get a lot more luck then the human, and the offside goals! so annoying why show them? if the thing says, offside, but he carries on GOAL! fair enough or if he scores and the lino is flagging and the referee see's it after thats fair enough but most of the time the linesmen is flagging the ref calls offside and then it comes up thinking you have just scored when u haven't!

You know guys, after thinking about this a bit more I've come to this conclusion. The AI does not try to play the game it self realistically but instead tries to keep the end result realistic, because how many times do you see a team go on an absolute scoring spree for like 30 games in a row. Well the AI will try to even out the scores by capitalizing on pretty much every single one of its chances, thereby keeping them closer so that it doesn't seem like you have scored 50 goals in the last 25 matches and allowed only 5, or something to that extent.

It's still all absolute BS though. I mean honestly how often do you see Man U scoring 4 goals but the the end result will actually be like 4-3 because the other team all the sudden scores 3 goals in 3 tries (or even 4 goals in 4 tries) in the last 10 minutes of the match. How many times will you actually see something like that happen? Most likely not very often at all.

I have actually only had the missing chances problem when on rare occassions the opposition had a super keeper. I am in 2016 now, having started unemployed and now managed though Nantes, Bayern and Juventus. I have always had strikers with good composure and finishing and I preferred pacy and good dribbling strikers, I have always had both strikers on "run with ball" often and them swapping positions with each other, they rarely miss chances. Sometimes I get a 3-0 result when I only have 4 total shots and 3 shots on target!

Absolutely correct. As annoying as it may be to watch your opponent put cross after cross into your box during the last 3 minutes, I'm sure many people here have benefited from scoring last minute goals on the break, including equalizers/winners in extra time.

If we're talking realism, it's not like this is really out of line with what's happened this season either. There have been a number of HUGE last minute goals this year. Messi's 87th minute strike away at Bremen, Drogba's equalizer in extra time to draw Barca at home, Messi's 90th minute strike in El Classico at Camp Nou, Arsenal's last minute winner against Man Utd.

As for opponents having a higher [goals scored/shots on goal ratio], just look at Arsenal this season. It happens to them every other week.

Wolfsong: I think what your saying is the wrong scenario. I think it happens to me when i'm on a winning streak. I'm winning games, creating chances, tight at the back and then this starts happening. Suddenly my strikers who were doing the buisness before can't get passed their keeper. On top of that my tight defence suddenly lets three goals from 3 shots. As i said before thats two extremes in the same match = highly unlikely.

I've had the flip side of the coin, managing Tranmere in the Prem, going on a losing streak of 6 matches beforewinning 3-0 away to Arsenal.

Unlikely, but not impossible. That's what I'm trying to say. Who would have put money on Northern Ireland being top of their Euro Qualifiying group after getting beaten 3-0 at home by Iceland in the opening match?

Unpredictability - that's the beauty of football.

Because lower cf stops them from skying it when 1-on-1 with the opposition keeper?

I've always read the you should up their cf if you don't seem to be scoring or creating chances. So now we need to lower cf?

*Sigh* what has this game degenerated too.
