It would seem that my early optimism was a little foolish as results have started to suffer. I think this tactic is a very good away tactic (I haven't lost away yet despite trips to Liverpool and Arsenal). However I haven't had much joy at home.
My team lines up:
GK - Carson
RB - Hoyte
LB - Bouma
CB - Knight (my best defender for some reason?!?!)
CB - laursen/Mellberg
RM - Young
LM - Barry
CM - Van Der Vaert
CM - D.Boateng/Reo Coker
AM - Maloney
FW - Carew
The tactic seems to be really tight at the back and as mentioned above useful away. Doesn't seem to do the job for me at Home although I appreciate this tactic was built for Man Utd and will not guarantee instant success for Villa!

You could always try it with another team if you wanted too but it is upto you.

joephoenix, who do you have as your playmakers with this tactic? I have modified it so its 4-4-2 but still changes the players about with great success.
However just so the thread isn't closed
Formation: 4:4:1:1
Style of play: It generally seems to me, that the tactic is mainly possessional play. Most of my games I seem to have a lot of possession, yet a lot of chances on goal. It requires 6 front men who can swap positions throughout the match.
Team instructions: the passing is short, mentality is attacking, defensive line is normal. it plays with playmakers, tight marking and is a counter attacking tactic - which is where I get a lot of my goals.
The tactic is for use at home and away, although if I'm not winning with 10 mins left I set it to all out attack, and move my ML/MR into AMR/AML with farrows, i usually create more chances but tire my AMR/AML out.
I think it would work with all big clubs, but I doubt it with the smaller sides.
