Hey guys, im into my second season, soon to be third and ajax who were seeking a new manager aproached me and i accepted. Not bad after 1 season , or so i thought..

Anyway, upon taking the vacant role at ajax, i realised just why the previous guy had been given the boot. He had spent insane amounts of money on what can be only discribed as crap players and had sold most of the main squad.

The board even seeing that the team was in a state of disseray demanded that i still win the league.

Anyway i usualy make my own tactics but sofar none of them seem to be working for my team, i concede loads of goals (have several players joining me in the transfer window)and seeming miss more sitters than we score.

I managed to sign Thiago from sao paulo, San Róman from river, Freddy adu and Felipe from Santos....Not the best signings as im well aware, but when i could barely field a team for injuries and players been sold by my predecesor and hunterlaar been , well worse than useless.

Sorry firstly for the long windedness of this post, i'll get to my question right now..

Without posting a screenshot of my squad, which seems pointless as theres going to be a mass exodous and recruitment in january i wonder if anyone has had any sucess with a formation utilising 3 at the back, 2 full backs (or wingers) and a target man (thiago for me at the moment) and idealy not conceding 2-3 goals a match which i am at present?

If so i'd really apreciate some pointers as its my first time managing in holland and all my tried tested formations dont seem to work for Ajax in this game, I've trauled the forums but i could search for ever and not find what i need on here

Finally i think ive cameup with a formation that is going to help me win the league as the board demanded. its 1 week till the transfer window and i have 13 players coming in, some for my squad line up some for the future, and no fewer than 12 players leaving which should generate me around 60 mil to spend.

The tactic is a variation of a 5-3-2 with wingbacks and an attacking midfielder playing off the strikers and a target man. The usual Target of my play is Thiago, but he's on international duty in this screen. I designed this formation shortly after my thread was posted and it's won me 13 in a row in the league and lost meonly 1 game vs Man Utd in the champs league from 14 games. Ive also managed to keep 6 cleen sheets in this time which is a huge improvement on when i took over this team..
