Hey everyone. I'm not sure if this has been tried and tested before but i've been roaming this board for a few years now and i'm sure i've never seen it mentioned.
Anyway. I've tried matching the individual player instructions to players attributes. For example:
If a player has creativity of 14 i will set the mentality and creative freedom notches to 14. Same for passing, if a player has 19 for passing then i'll have it on the first notch as obviously short passing is what we all want. If it's 5 then i'll have it on the fifth notch to the right of the center, so it'd be direct. And for closing down i will match it to the stamina attribute. So if a player has 18 for closing down then i'll match it on the closing down slider.
Now they all make sense apart from the mentality. But i just thought the mentality of a player should match their creative freedom also. If anybody else has any ideas of what attribute mentality could be matched to then please reply.
I have tried this theory for all ten outfield players, for the keeper i just set it to default. Obviously for the other sliders such as forward runs etc i use common sense and apply to their individual strenghts.
As soon as i implemented this theory the results were obvious and i've actually never seen such attractive football. Each player seems to know exactly what they're doing and i've been having some incredible performances and results. Dropped a few points, but hey that's football!
Has anyone else tried this before? If yes then please go easy on me!
First game was against Bolton who were top of the league. There are a couple of results where we dropped points, but we were having bad injury problems.

Makes perfect sense but you've got to have players with with the right attributes for their positions anyway.
True to an extent. But that is the same with any formation and instructions. But if every player plays to the maximum of their strenghts and you've got some good team instructions with a good balance then you're gonna do well.
Wow...I've not even thought about this before...I bet it would work really well in the lower leagues, coupled with team talks etc...I don't know about your team talk system but I bet with the right mixture you could maybe turn the 0-0's into 1-0's!
I always use individual setting for my players.
Closing down = workrate+stamina
Creative freedom = decisions+creativity
Mentality = hes role on the pich. Do I want him to play safe or take risks? low/high. very simple
