He is sitting on a free transfer at the start of the 2010/2011 season in my game. I offered him what he wanted but he turned me down and I lost interest as I was only going to sign him for the comedy value anyway.

Why wouldn't anyone want one of the best crosser/free-kicktaker/passer/stamina player in the world, even if it was just as a squad player?! He is a ledgend!

I agree, he lacks the pace, but still has is one of the best free kick takers and crossers, try playing him as a target man :thup:

no pace, no acceleration, and if ur buying him just for his set pieces might as well get some1 else, there are quite of few that have got his sort of set piece attributes. plenty of players have got +17 passing, and he's 32. i do agree, he is a legend, but it really would be a buy for the "comedy value" as N^G said.

I bought him when the game first came out. Was just trying out different players and bought him in the first season itself (yeah, he came). I think he only costs like 3-4M and nothing more despite the release clause. Played him on the right wing putting lots of crosses in and had 2 big strong lads as strikers (Adebayor & Iaquinta). They just kept heading everything in! Was great. Then to increase it even more, I started playing with an AMC who can head the ball as well (got Bodmer for that). And I had the AMC doing lots of forward runs and had an arrow pointing into the box. Had Beck's on the right and Recoba/Ze Roberto on the left (was trying out the golden oldies). They kept crossing the ball in and Adebayor, Iaquinta & Bodmer kept heading them in!! Lol. It was so simple and effective. I think almost every game I got atleast 2 assists and goals from that combination of 5 players.
