Maidstone and Aldershot both went bust in the early 90s. Can't think of any more recent ones.

And of course, Boro were minutes away in 1986.

There was also a Scottish one that went under a few years ago, can't remember who though.

Strictly speaking Uri Geller bailed out when the poop hit the fan so didn't really have anything to with us surviving.

I think you will find that Middlesbrough's Liquidation was a quite different affair from a club walking away from its debts.

"3 days before the season was due to start, the football league made a new ruling. Unless the club could prove it had £350,000 working capital and paid all creditors 100p in the £, then the club would not be allowed to play the opening game against Port Vale. That evening, the death of MFC was announced on Tyne Tees Television. There followed a desperate race against time to satisfy the football league that their proposals could be met. A meeting took place on Friday August 23, in which the football league and their representatives sat in one room, and the consortium and their legal advisors in another. Notes were passed from room to room. Colin Henderson, secured a deal with ICI in which they agreed to a bond, which would mean they pick up a major part of any subsequent debt. The consortium would put in their £825,000.

With just 10 minutes to spare, the initial documents were signed by Graham Fordy, Reg Corbridge and Henry Moszkowicz. Gibson later praised Henderson for delivering the bond in a format, which was acceptable to all parties. In recognition of his achievements, Henderson was named chairman of the new company, Middlesbrough Football & Athletic Company (1986). The company was formed by buying “Blackplay Ltd”, a dead company off the shelf. The board consisted of Gibson, Fordy, Corbridge and Moszkowicz.

At a press conference at Middlesbrough Town Hall, the news was announced that Boro had been saved. The first fixture of the new season, against Port Vale, would be played at Hartlepool’s Victoria Park, after Hartlepool had completed their own opening game.

Legal wrangles continued throughout the ‘86/97 season, as people with previous involvement with the club came forward to claim old debts. The initial debts of £825,000 increased to £2.5m."

most non-league clubs are pretty much running on a deficit anyway - take my lot Slough, where our current chairman has had to plug in over £1m just to keep the club's head above water in the middling reaches of the Ryman league while he gets a new ground.

In order to keep a decent side running at Conference South or Ryman Premier level you need to have a decent youth set-up, a stadium that is used almost all week long, players that are willing to play for minimum wage and supporters who are prepared to spend as much as possible when they are at a game and even when there are no games

There are a few Ryman Premier sides that have money to spend. Fisher has 3 guys on 800 pound a week iirc and AFC Wimbledon are also spenders.
Fisher had a 120 attendance against Redbridge last saturday. Still they get a new stadium on a 30m pound deal
