After reading the guidelines I found no reference to whether it's realistic to offer players to clubs. I've never heard of it IRL but it doesn't seem unrealistic that your ass. man. would have suggestions to where you could unload some players. Neither does it seem unrealistic if a club is interested in your player and you offer him to that club.
So have any of your heard of transfers that have been made like that IRL? And whats your view on using it in FM?

I use it. It happens all the time too in real. You just don't read it in the newspapers because it happens behind the scenes.

Hmm, from the title I thought this would be about something else. For FM 2006 we'll have to add another rule to the LLaMa code, I think - if we are able to promote gray players, doing this ad infinitum and selling them would be an easy trick to improve club finances, wouldn't it.

I'm pretty sure that those promoted players will be crap anyway, so you'd be happy if you could get rid of them for free.

Also, this thing is covered anyway. Doing something just to exploit the game mechanics is called cheating.

Point taken. Though at bigger clubs this may be a problem - I hope SI had thought about this issue...

I think that the grey players at larger clubs are more likely to make the team performace worse.

Yup, but when promoted, they'll be sellable, which might disturb the financial side of the game...

I certainly do. I either do it because the player doesnt fit my plans so I would rather give him away or sell him so I dont pay his wages for nothing, or because the transfer money is good and I need the cash.

Teams do it in real life all the time so I see it as realistic to do.
