Grab a bucket and start bailing out. We're sinking...
Adventures at Sport Clube Lusitânia, Portugal D2B South 04-05
I decided for FM to break with tradition and not play my first game in England. I enjoyed my Iberian clan experience in Portugal, so decided to go back. Unfortunately my unfinished business at Sintrense remains so, as they were relegated IRL Instead I go to their replacement, Lusitânia, who have the added attraction of playing in green and yellow
I have 4 left backs and not one player capable of playing MC. Thankfully I have a scout so he's quickly dispatched A squad of 20 (including my only U-19) has an amazing 13 defenders. We are unable to use our transfer budget as any player with a value greater than zero isn't interested in us. Fortunately my scout is half -decent and finds us some good freebies.
We're expected to battle bravely. We do. It's a long tough season, and we flirt with the relegation spots for much of it. We occasionally play well, doing the double over our arch-rivals U. Micaelense, whose manager I accidentally befriend More often than not we struggle. We're in trouble entering the last few weeks, but the fixture computer has been kind. We play our last two home matches against the bottom two and win both to pull ourselves up to finish 15th.
D2BS: 15th; P38 W10 D6 L22 F51 A85 Pts36
Cup: Reach 4th round courtesy of extra time and penalties in R2 & 3 respectively. Superleague Leira bring a big crowd to our place in return for their safe passage

hahahaha, I'm glad to see i'm not the only one who picks his team basing the decision in the colours

Never underestimate a club with colors that doesn't burn your retinas.

A poor season. I have added a few freebies, but despite looking better on paper than last year's side, we fail to win in our first 8 games. A lot of tactical tweaking goes on as we search for a system that gels our players. I think we've found it when we embark on a winning streak, including a 5-1 win at Atletico, to reach mid-table security.
Unfortunately the loss of our only DC of note to a season-ending injury in early March is the beginning of an unravelling that sees us in free-fall. We drop to the relegation zone with one match left, and we likely need an away win at Pinhalnovense to stay up. Results elsewhere are helpful. It's clear as we approach half time that a draw will do. We score. I'm dancing around for all of five minutes before our defensive frailty resurfaces. Twice in two minutes. Chasing the game, we ship 4 goals in total and are relegated
I find a little solace in the board's enthusiastic commendations of my ability to keep us in with a shout until the end as I wait for the "unplayable league" axe to fall. I wish they could "release" you rather than sacking you in cases like this
D2BS: 18th - Relegated; P38 W11 D6 L21 F43 A73 Pts39 - actually 3 points better than last year
Cup: Out at the first hurdle to non-league Sacavanense (4-1 away loss)
Farewell then, to SC Lusitânia. At time of writing, I'm still waiting for the managerial merry-go-round to stop and let me back on

On August 9, 2006, I was appointed manager at Clube Desportivo de Beja. The board have generously given me 3k to spend. I have an AssMan but no other staff. I have only a 16 man squad, but at least there's someone who can play in each position
